I'm going to go with the proven for right now. Clemson has proved it so they get my vote. With last season's cluster-fucking by FSU, they have a lot to prove. With Jimbo gone, that could be a giant burden off their shoulders, but with a whole new regime coming in, it's just going to be; wait and see.
It's beginning to look like MR is doing the same at Miami that he did at UGA. Strong at the beginning, but falls apart at the end. The rest of'em, no idea.

Miami, should be close between them and Clemson.

I voted for Clemson. Pretty hard to vote against them with the current state of FSU. Miami makes sense for most likely to come in 2nd.

I'd like to say VT as a dark horse, but I just really can't see it happening with the talent on Clemson. Clemson was a pretty young team so it won't get any easier.

I voted for FSU. (Probably not a surprise)

We've got more elite players than anybody in the ACC.

The negative right now is...how quick do we adapt to the new offense? Maybe the Spring game
will tell us.

As bad as we played last year...we fumbled away the Louisville game in the final minute.
Miami beat us on the last play of the game. NC ST rallied to beat us at the end. We were down
to Clemson 17-14 late in the 3rd quarter at Death Valley.

We have the talent to line up and play with anybody. If this new offense catches on, we're strong enough
on defense to win any game where we score 30.

Outside of the current topic, will VT finally win much needed recruiting battles over Clemson and other teams for blue chippers like Dax H and Devyn F for the '18 & '19 classes? Many (including Hokie fans) have been dinging Tech for consistently losing much needed top talent which were originally big leans for VT. If we start to win battles like for these two, I will be very happy. It's one thing to get decent talent that fits Fuente's mold, it's another to start winning blue chip talent that fits his mold...

It's either Clemson, or...
No. It's just Clemson.

Hopefully, VT gets some key wins in the division over Miami and GT. If we do, then we should make the title game and anything can happen, regardless of the Atlantic winner. Still don't think we'll have a shot at the playoff, but a 10-2 season heading to the ACC CG is a very good possibility. Opening up against FSU would be a tough test, even if they have a coaching change. Still a lot of talent on that team.

I don't know that I see FSU doing much better this year. Am I the only one that wasn't even slightly impressed by the hiring of Taggart? If Francois isn't the QB, 7-6 is another real possibility.
