Can't make the club from the tub... just too injury-prone, unfortunately.

Too bad the kid was on his rookie contract(I believe). Gonna be a bummer if he never really comes back and leaves all that money on the table. Hopefully, he gets better and contributes somewhere.

We all do. He made big plays in the SB. We all saw that potential in that game and got excited to finally have THAT WR. Unfortunately, his knee is won't help him play.

Good luck MM. Thanks for making big plays against Atlanta to get your ring.

Was really hoping he was Dieon Branch 2.0.

Very interesting discussions about MM.

He actually passed the physical and he passed BB's on field physical. The problem was, he immediately had swelling in the knee after the the on field physical test.

They inserted a micro-needle and drained some fluid which relieved the swelling.

He went back on the field the following day in uppers and shorts and couldn't put a stress on the knee at all. The medical staff examined the knee and Mitchell decided to go with another procedure to aleviate the pain and inflammation. While the procedure helped, Mitchell just couldn't do anything requiring stress on the knee.

There's no confirmation on this and I doubt we'll ever really know for sure, but the report is that Mitchell got the his final two years of pay in full when they cut him. The Patriots could have waived him and then put him on IR, but he would have been out another year. Two years away from this game is like a lifetime and few if any players have ever come back after two full years away.

All those dropped passes, however, are simply on Dez.
Bryant has the second-most touchdown grabs in the NFL over the last five seasons.

I love the last paragraph...............................

'If the Pats weren't already your least favorite team, just wait until Bryant signs and see how much your hatred can intensify.'

MM, like Malcolm Butler, is another feel good story that didn't last very long. Like MB, he had a great performance in a SB game. Too bad his knee(s) gave out on him. The speculation about Dez Bryant is interesting. BB has certainly taken other "difficult" top athletes and gotten a good return from them. Two things, IMHO, stand in the way. First, the amount of $$ Bryant will ask for. Second, will he be another Randy Moss or another Ochocinco? If Bryant can't get on the same page with TB (apparently not an easy thing to do), he may be the second coming of Ochocinco.

Bryant is not interested in signing with the Browns because he'd like to play with a winning team. He worked out in Foxboro on Monday and supposedly impressed Josh. We Patriot fans know that Bill is not going to back up the Brinks truck, so what would Bryant be offered and more important, what would Bryant be willing to accept?

The Patriots don't have a lot of cap space and certainly won't cut players to make room for Dez.

With Mitchell gone, signing Bryanrt to a team friendly contract might be difficult. Thing is, it might be New England or Cleveland. Right now, Jarvis Landry is campaigning like hell for the Browns to make a deal for Odell Beckham. If that happens, the available doors for Dez might just be closing.
