I wouldn't go to the Super Bowl if I had free tickets, plane, and hotel. Not a chance. It's just not my idea of fun. I'm an adult.

Wow. Really? Are you sure you are a football fan? You would not want to see your team playing for a championship even if it was free? Please explain. What does being an adult have to do with it. I'm puzzled.

been to away baseball games, just not away football games.

wasn't a big deal, but it's a different mind set I think. I know some people that went to the end zone area at the "dog pound", they admitted it was stupid.

Too loud, too crowded, too obnoxious, too uncomfortable, horrible views, etc, etc. It's just not one bit of fun. Not to me.

That's fair. To each his own. I guess Bengals road trips have always been a good excuse to get out of town for a party.

Totally disagree with this. I have been to quite a few Bengals road games and have had a great time. In fact, I think going to road games is more fun than the home games. Chatting and drinking with the opposing fans is awesome. We have had epic tailgate parties in Tampa, Foxboro, Green Bay, Chicago, etc. The only issue I have had with asshole opposing fans was in Cleveland. Go figure.

I would most definitely go. No question about it. You will be surprised at how many Bengals fans you see. We travel pretty well for downtrodden franchise. We are making a return trip to Foxboro if we win this week. 8:00 PM game surrounded by rabid, drunk Bostonians. If the Bengals pull an upset, we may need a police escort out of Gillette.

Fair enough. But personally, I don't really care for the interaction with other team's fans which is why I will never go to an away game.

Home games are a different story because I enjoy the atmosphere when rooting for the same team as 90% of the tens of thousands of fans at the game.

That said, in either case, the at home "game experience" is much more enjoyable to me than actually going to a game with horrible viewing angles, cold weather, expenses, getting in and out of the stadium, etc.

I hear what you are saying. At this point in my life, I only like to go to a few games a year. Large screen HD at home definitely better view. However, I have always been one to enjoy a fun road trip. We have had some really good times. Never been to a road playoff game, though. Funny, I have buddy who is a Pats fan. He went to a Pats vs Browns playoff game in Cleveland back in the day. By the end of the game, he was praying that the Pats would lose because he was afraid he would be killed on the way out.

I just simply don't understand how someone can't have fun at games but I guess it really is "to each his own". I've had the shittiest seats possible at home and away football, basketball, and baseball games and have had a great time. I've had trash talked to me but I take it as friendly teasing and just smile about it. I guess it's just my amicable demeanor that keeps people from wanting to throw punches or beers at me.

I went to a Browns game and had some Browns fans yelling at me from a far telling me it was going to be a cold day in Cleveland and that the Bengals were about to get shit on. About 45 seconds later I was drinking their beers, eating their hot dogs, and laughing with them.

Well, I don't like people. That's probably why I won't go. Baseball is fine. Basketball is fine. Football? Hell no.

I was you 25 years ago.....perspective changes with age, at least in my case....physical comfort has become my top priority now, and that means home in front of the big screen.....I'm not as extreme as kman, though, and if you don't believe that, go ahead and offer me free Super Bowl tickets and see what happens.....
