Apparently people think so.

Just for entertainment purposes, what would it take for Ohtani to win AL MVP?

Thought he already won

But if he continues at this impossible pace. You have to give it to him
Well sure. He's hitting what? Like Ted Williams? Through a week? K/9 over 12 last I checked? Would be one of the crazier MVP campaigns and just as a novelty is fascinating to think about as the maxim we have been told for the past 100 years or so is you can't develop a hitter to also pitcher or vice versa at the same time.

I think MLB will give it to him on the 5th of May, Cinco de Mayo so that they can plan for the Hall of Fame parade on the 4th of July, Quatro de Julio and spot on Mt. Rushmore by the 7th of September, Siete del Septiembre.

Lucky for MLB, they have two things to talk about now -- the Yankees and the Greatest Player To Ever Live.

Or he could end up hitting .255 with an ERA around 4.50.

I guess MLB is going to guide us through the process.

I have to imagine Harper might be a little irked at all the Ohtani talk. This is his walk year, and he's absolutely mashing the ball, and I'm hearing very little about it, particularly measured against the Ohtani talk.

It's as though MLB needs to find some kind of "thing" to be people interested. Lucky for them, the fuckin' weather has been too cold to care about the games -- so MLB sent out its prized puppy for all of us to admire.

No mistaking this, I do not wish Ohtani ill ... I hope he is as good as advertised, but this is a bit much. I click on my MLB page and it's ... today Ohtani ordered butter on his bread and was preparing to spread it with his left hand while holding onto his pickle with his right.
