It's a flawed method designed to sell advertising. Don't believe it's an accurate measure of real-life viewing.
what! u dont think 5000 will be a good indicator for 99 million:suds:

To find out who is watching TV and what they are watching, the company gets around 5,000 households to agree to be a part of the representative sample for the national ratings estimates. Nielsen's statistics show that 99 million households have TVs in the United States, so Nielsen's sample is not very large.

Noooo. The take away is the New York fans classify it as a "shitty season" cause their teams didn't sniff the playoffs!

in before some Pats fan starts posing winning percentages against other divisions.
Contrary to popular belief, the AFCE is one of the most competitive divisions because ...:puke:
Also, you need to consider that Tom Brady ... :brick:

If the Chargers were in the playoffs, the ratings would be much higher..

just downloaded the first season and will start it on my flight tomorrow.

Nice Scoob, I think you will really enjoy it and shocked at all the shit Escobar pulled. You will like him at times and not at others

If the Dallas Cowboys and NY Giants had been playing a playoff game this weekend the ratings would have been in 30's or 40's. Jets/Cowboys would be the same. The market a team plays incan skew the ratings.

NE/Tenn You're talking about max of 15,000,000 people in those two areas combined.
Minn/NO Not much more
Phil/Atl Had the largest audience to draw from
Pitt/Jax Not that huge

New York, LA, Miami, Chicago just aren't that interested.

The NFL is past its peak.

As far as netflix, Black Mirror very good, I do like breaking bad. Godless, mediocre. Certain seasons of Mad Men and Sons of Anarchy are worth watching.

I said this last week, and its not really the Patriots fault, but people are finally sick of seeing the typical Pats punching bag opponents in these AFC playoffs

id bet your wifes wet bags this is the lowest rated AFC Title game ever

Im as big an NFL fan as their is, and I know I finally had enough, took the wife out for a night of wine, champagne and penis (my wife this time) during the Pats game

Youd love Peaky, its a 4 season investment tho

Early 1900's irish Mob stuff, pretty awesome

Starts an entire thread about boring TV entertainment and then launches all of you dandy boys into a discussion of fuckin' TV programs.

Pack of fems all of you. Get some fresh air now and again.

I think the ratings are down for 3 reasons

1) too many injuries. This year marque players dropped like flies and many fell early. Interest in your favorite team will fall off quickly if the stars aren't playing

2) the teams in the major markets sucked this year so again... who wants to watch a shitty team. I mean even Dirt gave up watching the Giants and focused on the pats :D

3) I just think the generations coming up aren't glued to football like the older generations are. When I was growing up there were very limited TV options. Sports were dominant on TV. Now people stream stuff to things other than TVs. There's much much more content available in many more settings. This is also why viewership in ESPN is declining

4) who really wants to watch the Bills, Titans and Jaguars playing in a month usually reserved for the best of the best

Were you bummed out when they cancelled Lavern & Shirley?

Lmao

Laverne and Shirley
Happy Days
Shananah

Those 3 in a row on a Tuesday night was a tradition back in the day for the whole family

It was during Laverne and Shirley one night that we saw a great big glow outside one night, as it turned out, my clubhouse in our backyard was up in flames

Guess that heating unit wasn't a great idea
