Semi OT: Other goalies of the board

What's your Toe Bridge method? Last I played, I did the skanky old laces through the front of the skate and up over the laces. Son does it that way now.

But I've been seeing a lot of kids that have a flexible buckle that attaches around the back of the boot, and tonight at practice I saw "Flex Toe" for the first time. Welcome to Flextoe Looks pretty sweet.

Have any of you ever used one of these two methods, and if so Benefits / Issues?

Boy is one minor growth spurt away from needing new pillows, so I'm planning ahead.

I've the leather strap front and back

Pros I can pull the toe flap down close ice easily not worrying about extra lace
Cons: can easily be cut by skate in scrums
