I know you probably thought the Pens wanted to avoid this matchup, but you're wrong!

1) The last time the Pens tried to defend the Cup, and faced a Canadian team that had just upset the heavily favoured President Trophy-winning Capitals squad, it did not turn out well.
2) Pittsburgh has never won a Stanley Cup without beating the Caps in the first or second round, so I'm happy for you guys, really!

It will be a good series. Definitely the second round series everyone (except Columbus and maybe Washington) was hoping for. I just hope that whoever wins, no serious injuries. With Letang and Murray out, Capitals aren't going to get a better chance to erase those demons!

Of course not, the Pens have never won a Cup without beating the Caps en route. And I assume the same will hold true for us.

I love these "big" hockey fans that show up for these series threads...

The truth is Pittsburgh is a great town that I love to come visit. And DC is a big supporter of Pittsburgh as half the people born there have to move here to get a job.

I think I heard a week ago that the team with more rest usually loses game 1, but it was only by a slight margin.

On second thought, a game 1 loss might be better for the Pens. The sooner the Caps chase MAF out of net and gets Murray back in, the better. That's assuming Murray will be recovered by then.
