For a guy that most republicans (including Trump) apparently agreed was a shit candidate, running in an utterly meaningless special election (this district will not exist in a year, the seat has no bearing on the makeup of the House, the victor pretty much has to go straight back into another election campaign in another district if they want to stay in the House), they sure did put a lot of time and money into this.

The funny thing is, a lot of democrats seem pissed too because Lamb is not at all the socialist, bleeding-heart lefty they want the party to be entirely made up of moving forward (Lamb is pro-gun, anti-abortion, was a marine) and people seemed to, gasp, actually like his moderate stances.

I wouldn't label Lamb as anti-abortion:

Remember, in June the Senate voted 98-2 in favor of imposing financial sanctions on Russia for election meddling. In January, Trump released the Nunes memo to distract from the fact that he refused to sign the bill to implement the sanctions. Around a time his SoS was trying to sign a 500 BILLION dollar deal for his former company with the Russian state Oil Company.
