Actually it works the other way when an SEC team plays them they are a doormat but if someone OOC plays them then they are a ranked team and SEC West contender. Read through the sarcasm.

Just like in Congress, there are idiots on both sides of the aisle, just a lot less here than in Congress.

You should be ashamed BYU and Ole Miss are quality opponents...especially when you lose to them.

we can always compare
2103: NewMexico, BYU, Ole Miss vs Wsh State, Ark State, Western Carolina, Florida Atlantic
2014: UCLA, BYU, North Texas vs San Jose State, KSU, LA TEch, SaMford (not Stanford)
2015: ND, Rice, Cal vs Louisville, Jackson State, Idaho, San Jose State
2016: UTEP, ND, CAL
2017: Maryland, UCF, and USC

One of these is not like the other.

Is Ole Miss only a quality opponent when they are a conference opponent? I have seen enough fans of SEC talking them up like they would win every single conference but they are stuck in the SEC.

It is funny, but in a different sense. Ole Miss is a quality OOC opponent, mostly because OOC schedules generally consist of teams that have a remote chance of winning a game. Nobody claimed the Ole Miss was top 10, just that they are not the usual southwest directional state. I would say teams like Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Cal, Northwestern, etc are all solid OOC games. Top 10 teams should beat all of those, but there are not games were your second string will be playing before halftime. Perfect OOC is 1 patsy and a couple of mid-tier BCS teams. It would be nice to see a OOC with USC, OU, and Bama (just an example), but you would never get rewarded for that. You could have 2 losses on the season and you are out, despite playing a far superior schedule.

Ole Miss is the Iowa State of the SEC.
They suck.
Nothing quality about them no matter who they play.
A punching bag.

Not even close. Lot of good recruiting is going on at Ole Miss. There is a chance for success there, though the luster is startign to fade on Coach Freeze. Year 1 showed promise. Year 2 a mild disappointment. Year 3 is the proving ground. Iowa State is a bunch of 2 star kids with a good coach. Ole Miss seems to be more Dallas Cowboys than ISU. "Look at all that talent... finish ~.500"

They both averaged 7 losses a year for the last 10 years.
Sorry, but that sucks.
Terrible programs have their ups and downs too, it just hovers between 5-9 losses a year.

Just going by the talent Freeze has recruited there. Ole Miss has had its moments historically. ISU has never done anything
