Eddie lacy..... 5.5m one year 3 guaranteed

I actually kind've like it. If Lacy is in shape this year, it'll alleviate a lot of my concerns about his ability to stay healthy and should make him a force. He's kind've in the same place in his career as Lynch was when he came here, and so Seattle could end up with another really good back. And, if it doesn't work out, no harm in a 1-year deal.

Kind of confused by that. Cook is a bum and if we are going to sign a te why not just bring back willson?

yea, Jared Cook doesn't seem to make much sense to me either. Where the hell is Nick Vannett? still injured or just a bust?

I like the deal. That's pretty cheap for the 2nd most yards after contact last year. Keep in mind that this is in addition to Rawls and Prosise for whom I find to be our future at the position.

Yeah don't think I like the idea of signing Cook, he's seems like a head case.

I"m happy about this, as long as he stay's in shape and really wants to succeed... he's a physical back that we don't have right now... Rawls, Prosise and Lacy is a nice combo ...

Me thinks, the Seahawks own a set of scales and weighed him, checked out his conditioning before signing him to a five million dollar contract

Lacy....not a bad add with all things considered. It's a 1 year job interview for this next contract, and hopefully he makes a compelling case for that to be here in Seattle. Career 4.4 ypc, caught 77 passes combined in his first 2 seasons. Played really well last season prior to the ankle injury that cost him 11 games. He hasn't been a home run hitter in his first 4 years (and probably never will be), but it seems he can do pretty much everything else and has a style that fits in well with what this team tries to do in the run game.

And with this and the signing of Joeckel plus the visit with Jared Cook, the script definitely appears to be free agent dollars on offense and draft picks on defense.

Unless they decide to use their 3 of their top 4 draft picks to move up to get one of the top 2 OT's in the draft.
Doubtful.

Yep, and that certainly would be out of character for this front office. I think it's much more likely that at least 3 and maybe even 4 of our first 5 picks are spent on D.

It's at least mildly interesting to me in a "wow, what a coincidence!" sort of way that on the day the team signed Eddie Lacy (who wore 27 in GB), it also re-signed Neiko Thorpe, who also wore 27 for us last season.

So is Lacy gonna buy the 27 off Thorpe in Seattle or move to a different number?

The contract is a bargain. All he has to do is perform.

remember when we got beast mode on the cheap? could be a good move. Here is a decent write up on the Lacy deal, only 2.8 mil in guarantees

Report: Lacy's contract with Seahawks includes weight bonus
Definitely some parallels. Both had 2 strong, productive seasons to begin their careers then both fell off sharply the 2 seasons after that and seemingly fell out of favor with their original clubs as they started focusing more on other players at the position -- Fred Jackson & CJ Spiller in Buffalo and Ty Montgomery in GB. It was a trade that brought Lynch here and not a FA signing like Lacy, but the general circumstances are eerily similar. I guess we'll see if PC can revive Lacy's career like he did with Lynch. Blue skies ahead if he does.
