Report: Seahawks bringing in recently released J.R. Sweezy for a visit

A reunion with Sweezy would be interesting I guess. I suppose he would have a decent shot at the RG job, and adding him would make it tougher for either Odhiambo or Fluker to make the team I think. Sweezy got a pretty sweet contract after leaving here but has been banged up since, so I wonder what kind of condition he's actually in.

Sweezy isn't great but he is still an upgrade to the crappy line we had last year.

Another issue with the Earl situation:

The whole league appears to be devaluing the safety position. Essentially no safeties have been signed this off-season, so it's unclear that any team will want to meet Earl's #s.

I doubt it, at least until they an trade Thomas. There really doesn't appear to be a reason to bring Reid in the be the back up, and I doubt he is wanting to have to fight for a position after turning down a one year deal to start in SF. He wants multiple years, and he wants to be a starter, two things Seattle can't assure him of as long as Thomas is still here.

It’s not that Thomas and Reid overlap in skill, it’s that McDougal and Thomas are the starters, and I’m pretty sure that the FO isn’t going to be interested in bringing in a guy who is that expensive just to be the backup.

If the FO believes in either of the two kids on the roster at all, there really isn’t a reason to throw the money at Reid while MCDougal and Thomas are still the starters.

I'm looking forward to it. I like many of the younger players that will now have a chance to show what they can do, and I'm excited to see this team try to prove the doubters wrong about how good they'll be without some of the "name" players that were vital to the SB teams. My fingers are also crossed for more focus on football and less on politics with MB gone. I know I may not get it, but that's still my hope.

the lose of Bennett wont be that big of a deal, the loss of Avril hurts though because Avril/Clark would have been a Upgrade over Bennett/Avril. The Loss of Kam is a brutal one, he has proven that when he is in on that defense it's light years better. I don't think Griffin will be as good as Sherman but close/good enough, so the other side will be a big ? if that is equal to Griffins play last season then i think they are = there. If Earl plays the defense should have a chance to be as good or BETTER than they were last year. This is not taking into account though of injuries we might get in training camp. Don't have the depth to plug and play in many areas like past years but they are younger no joke there. Bobby will be the Best MLB again in the league.
