Triggered ? Nobody is triggered as far as I've noticed. Does give us something to talk about.

Fair enough. I may be reading between the lines a wee bit. But let's see how long his holdout lasts. Kam was excoriated in here during his too.

My guess is ET's holdout won't last very long.

Yeah, I don't know when it happened, but it seems we're now in this place as a society where if I disagree with something then it means I'm "triggered" or "outraged." I think it's a way of turning the problem back on me for having an issue with it, like a cousin to an ad hominem.

C'mon man. Like you can't find 10,000 posts weekly on these threads with people running down athletes for speaking out of turn.

I've read posts like that from YOU, and I respect you as a well thought out poster.

Most of the chum-heads on the hoop?

Triggered all the time.

And to be clear, that's not just a left thing. If I had a dollar for every time I've read about SJW's on the hoop (and I don't even GO into their NST politics forum), I could go to Aruba for a month.

If he doesn't get a deal, it'll go right up to the season. That's the only card players have these days. And that's JUST the stars like Earl (or Julio)

I thought for sure the Falcons would've given Julio a new deal. I can honestly say he's not the kinda guy I would have pegged to be holding out of mandatory mini-camp.

Why not? it happens all the time. Ask yourself why Pitts fans are floating a Earl/Bell trade scenario.

The NFL has the most league friendly labor agreement in sports.

Bell is another guy in a contract dispute. Don't want him here sorry.

At worst ET holds out for a couple of games and then he will be back.

He's a FA after the season so anything is possible. A contract extension is also possible. Tough to predict ET's future.

Or any football player's future for that matter. Your future can change on a dime. Look at Ryan Shazier and Jim Kelly. One is just getting the ability to walk again and the other is a cancer survivor.

I am not saying no one is ever triggered or outraged, but it's possible to have a dissenting opinion without being in 1 of those 2 categories.

My main issue with Earl is that I just think he's making a dumb move unless what he really wants is to be traded out of town. I really don't think this FO is going to cave and give him a new deal after a hold-out (at least not a big one), so in the end all that will really happen is he'll lose some money and maybe the team will also be hurt (we lost both games that Kam missed in 2015) for his absence. I don't think he's a bad guy for trying to maximize his income. I just think he has a serious ends/ways/means mismatch.

Wouldn't be a good idea on his part.. Especially if he's concerned about getting injured, which is one of the main reasons he wants an extension... Usually guys that hold out of training camps and miss regular season games come back and have poor seasons to their standards, while being more vulnerable to injuries...

I heard a third and that's it from Dallas. I'm sure there were other teams calling but obvious not enough. Plus not sure how serious the FO wanted to trade ET since they were looking for a first and third.

Yeah, just proves that the "Free Safety" position isn't as valued as it once was...

Kam and Avril are two other examples as well...

Neither do I. What's that got to do with anything? He's a 'star' NFL player.

I know he's a star player but he WANTS to get paid and deserves every penny. Steelers are gonna make a big mistake if they let Bell walk in free agency.
