Considering how much turnover there's been so far and could still be before the season starts, the 2018 season could resemble the 2011 season in a lot of ways. The roster and the coaching staff needed an overhaul back then and it's getting another one now. The 2010 season might have been the start of the overhaul, but it didn't really start to rev up until 2011. Two years later, the Hawks had a championship. This year's team is already going to have an advantage over the 2011 team... a Pro Bowl quarterback. That group in 2011 might have been the worst group of quarterbacks the Seahawks had since the early to mid 90's. I also think that the 2011 roster, overall, wasn't as talented as this year's roster is going to be regardless of the number of quality players this year's team has already lost from last year's. That isn't to say this overhaul is going to result in the same success the other one did, but there is a precedent for it.

With Suh signing with the Rams, I legitimately worry for Russell Wilson's health.

Well the good news is we don't play the Rams until week 7.. so perhaps there will be an injury or the Rams will throw some games and Suh/Donald will get frustrated and not put in 100% effort. Both have done this in the past...

End of day I'm glad we traded for Duane Brown. Our RB situation last year was terrible and it'll likely remain so with Suh/Donald going against the interior of our pedestrian guard situation. IMO going to have to all out pass against the Rams unless we find a guard/RB gem in the draft.

Pretty horrible news (Suh). Not only could our DL depth be iffy with all the losses, but he goes to our biggest competitor in the division where he'll line up directly against our biggest weakness? Not sure if this could have worked out any worse.

What to do with our 1st round pick.

Trade down for sure.
Will Jackson or Rudolph fall to Seattle.
I could see some team HOT for Jackson.

Let's hope it works.

That is one scary D

No kidding. Suh and Donald lining up in the middle has to be the best interior I can recall since I've become a football fan. Aaron Donald IMO is the best player in the NFL, and Suh graded as the #5 interior defender by PFF. Yikes.

Who do you double team? Also do you even want to run between the tackles with those two inside?

It's a pick your poison kind of deal so maybe take your chances on doubling Donald. At this point running outside seems to be the only option for teams but with Seattle's o-line woes they might have to scrap the run and just air the ball out quickly and often and pray RW can just survive with minor bumps and bruises.

A sharp OC can help mitigate the fat guys on the D line. Roll outs, 3 step drops, passes to the flats... Lots of options. It's all about executing.

I wouldn't exactly call Aaron Donald a fat guy on the defensive line. Dude ran a 4.68 at 6'1 285lbs. Chris Carson ran a 4.58 while nearly 70lbs lighter.

Didn't expect anyone to take the "fat guy" comment as a slam. The term tends to apply to OL and DL alike. DT's moreso than DE's as an example. Generally speaking, the trenchmen have the most body fat of any position on the team. Anyway, that is my opinion on that matter.

On the "fat guy" thing....

Was at the Mariners game last night. As Ryon Healy comes up to the plate to face Kluber for the 2nd time, some guy behind me up in the 300 level yells, "Hey Scott, put in the fat guy!!"

It was funny, and I did have a thought earlier in the game as to why Servais opted for Healy against a RHP over lefty hitting Vogelbach. It's not like Healy is some slam dunk every day proven 1B, and fat Dan had a crazy good spring.
