high school games? this weekend?? HS football season goes this long in TX??

This is just the semi-finals this week. The finals are next Saturday the 23rd. It takes 6 weeks in Texas to get a champion.

Yep. 16 games for the two teams that reach the finals in every division but 6-man.

Yep. And beginning next Wednesday at Jerrah's World, the two six man schools will draw 3,000-4,000. Thursday-Saturady collectively approaches 250,000 or so...at least that was the last figure I saw.

I haven't read the article yet, but the Dallas Morning News is proposing instant reply for state high school playoff games.

oh, don't get me wrong, nowhere did I say that Boise St was really any good, either.

My point despite your initial cut down is Oregon with their starting QB is good. Damn good actually. 6-1 and scoring over 52 points per game with Herbert at QB.

There is no such thing as a bad football game on TV.

Even Florida games, when they do make a bowl game, can be good to watch, at least for the
hysterically funny point of view. I watch them and chuckle throughout. And it's not just about
all the interceptions or blocking each other or disguising their linemen as turnstiles. It's the
fans. The "Jorts"...the smiles from the folks with multiple teeth missing. The majorettes and'3 of them with
asses that abut both hash marks. The Gator Chomp and getting to see half of them that cannot
have the top make contact with the bottom hand. The average person would not be able to afford this
type of comedy.

Yeah we've seen that story about a million times over the past decade. "damn good" until they actually have to play tough, physical "actually good" teams, then we see what happens. Oregon, at their best, will always be paper champions, nothing more

Like when they won the Pac 12 over Physical Stanford? Like winning the Fiesta Bowl over Big XII champ Kansas State?
like winning Rose Bowls over Big 10 champ Wisconsin and ACC champ Florida State? like beating highly ranked Michigan State
like winning games against ranked Stanford, Arizona, USC, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Oregon State, Arizona State in conference over the years?
as for seeing what happens, losing by 3 in a National Championship game to and undefeated SEC champ and Heisman winner? losses to teams and while there were other losses majority were to ranked teams, usually top 10-15.

Oregon probably has more wins over ranked teams and high ranked teams as they do losses over the last couple decades.

I question whether some on here are even football fans. A real football fan doesn't need the game to be against 2 ranked opponents to be good. Sometimes the lower schools provide a better all around game.

sometimes 2 matched up teams from lower conference offer a more exciting game than 2 ranked teams from P5.

Like Oklahoma vs Ohio State and Clemson vs Miami werent as exciting as the Mountain West championship game or the Army/Navy game or UCF vs USF was

100% correct. All you need for a good football game is two evenly matched teams, that are each on their
game that day. That goes for every and all levels.

or 2 unevenly matched teams but the lesser is on their game like Iowa State pulled off a couple time. Iowa over Ohio State. App State over Michigan. Syracuse over Clemson
