Yes. Other than money, what is the incentive for playing in Buffalo? Nothing. Why would he give a damn?

Let Jeffries walk and get a 3rd for compensation and sign Watkins for $8-10M per year.

Good option to go to in case Jeffery doesn't pan out or wants too much. He's had some bad luck w/injuries, I think he tried to come back too soon from his foot surgery last year. He's a stud when he's full go.

Maybe Jaylen can work some of his brother mojo and get the Eagles on Sammy's radar?

I loved Watkins coming out, but he can't stay healthy.

We could pay Jeffery AND Watkins for 2018, and then wind up starting Hollins and Gibson half the games.

His production has been modest at best. In part because of his injuries. He's probably missed more than 1/3 of the games he's eligible for.
Buffalo probably wants to see him produce at a higher level than heretofore before they pay him the kind of money we're paying Jeffries.

Jeffrey is a way better receiver than Watkins. If we are paying an injury prone WR, it's easily Jeffrey between those two.

I was about to come here and give my typical knee jerk response of "nope" for a guy not being optioned on his first deal due to injury.

However....call it maturity.....I would like Watkins at the right deal (as with most players). That deal would have to take into account the injury risk and be reasonable enough over all to compensate for this risk. So....basically....some other team will over do it to take him.

I am OK with this.

I think if Alshon works out we'll sign him to a longer deal mid-season. We need Wentz to have familiarity with his targets and if Alshon remains healthy he would give Wentz that reliable possession target at receiver to compliment Ertz at the TE spot. I'm also excited about the big play ability we added with Hollins and Gibson to go along with Torrey Smith. No shortage of speed this year ...

I fully expect alshon to be extended and be here awhile. The one year deal was likely to make sure of what we are getting before a long term commitment and likely to save money on this years cap as well. Alshon wants to be here and wants to play with Wentz as well. That's going to be a good fit for chemistry. I'm sure they want to make sure there is no TO/McNabb fall out. I blame mcnabb's lack of leadership for that, and his inability to manage people. TO is just ego and competitive. Steve young warned them and said it's a good problem to have. McNabb couldn't handle it, and let problems fester instead of adjusting to it. I don't expect Wentz will have that problem at all, and alshon is not TO either. That said, I will wait for that extension before getting an Alshon Jersey as well.

Man I hope Alshon can prove durable for a full year, this guy is a monster when healthy, and with Wentz throwing him the ball

Me too, and I believe that he will enjoy the Eagles much more than Chicago, as they have gone into the abyss. I am sure that Howie will get a long term deal with him before the end of the season (I hope). It would't surprise me if he had nagging injuries because the bears are very dysfunctional, and it wears on the players when that happens.

You want to bring a guy who can't stay healthy to Philly?

...that's funny.
