This kind of loss is the hard ones to take. We outplayed them for 55 minutes. by 18 points. But for 5 minutes they got a FG to end the 1st half and 15 points to end the 2nd half.

Most know that teams go into a prevent defense (old terminology) late in halves. Ritchie Petibon did that in the 80s. The idea is to keep the ball in front of you and rally up to break up a pass, pickoff or make a tackle inbounds to keep the clock moving. We consistently leave such large gaps between the LBers and DBs that we are leaving wide open holes in the zone and three completions in those seams and a team is down field. Long story short we are giving up way to much grass in there.

It is a shame because for 55 minutes the D was very good but for 5 minutes I could get Pee Wees to do the same thing.

breed you are right KC wasnt perfect . the issue is we need him to be every game and that is an issue

overall he did enough to get the win . if you have a 15 point lead with under 5 minutes to play you should get the win . we didnt

KC wasn't perfect. No QB ever is. But he was damn near as close as one can get at the position this game. Anyone that looks to place any blame on KC or the offense has ulterior motives for doing so. No one can be that stupid, can they?

One of the things that is hilarious is that some point out a pass too long, a missed receiver etc. I get that, we all do it. Name the QB who doesn't. You can't, no one is 100% perfect. You look at it over all and take the totality. I commented during the game that VD dropped a couple of balls. I am not holding him accountable. He was a big reason we had 31. He is playing with hurt hands. No one is 100%.

Never said he was perfect, but 99 times out of 100 that should be enough to win. 31 points is the most they have scored the entire season, yet we are discussing gruden and kc as the problem?

b/c at the most important time in the game they failed.

When it comes crunch time nobody wants to make Gruden and KC accountable.

Wrong. Everybody (except you) understands why we lost that game. It wasn't the last drive. Open your eyes. It should have never come to a last drive. But it did. Do you know why?

We lost the game b/c of our D but there are two mishaps that open the door for the Saints. The intentional grounding play. Look like there was a mix up, Either Crowder went the wrong way or was it on KC. But that was not intentional grounding. Finally I blame Gruden. We had 3rd and short and the Saints stopped Perine. If we make the 3rd and short game is over. We had to at all cost make the first down. There is no way I am depending on my D to stop Brees. This play sealed our faith. The chair needs to be thrown at Gruden with his dumb play calling. The Saints D sold out every defender for the run.

The defense played hideously today and as always , was at its worst when it counted most. That's on point right there. That's also a valid excuse for KC perhaps, but not for Gruden. He's been terrible the last 2 minutes of the 1st half and last 2 minutes of the game. time and time again. When does he stop getting a pass?

Amen. We are consistent at being bad when it counts. This type of play has been occurring for sometime also. We always search and fine a way to lose. Sometimes it's just bad luck also. Gruden as I mentioned earlier shares the blame immensely. The 3rd and short play. There's no way in hell I am going to let Brees face my D at this juncture of the game.

KC last drive was inexcusable.

Why? Because Crowder didn't get the memo on the play change? What was excusable about the defense? What about Preston Smith making a bone headed penalty that lead to seven points for the Saints? If he doesn't do that, then we don't have to worry about making a field goal later in the game!

The defense failed at several important times in the game. You always judge a game by the last play, that is not the whole story.
