I think his status is that he had neck fusion surgery and has yet to be cleared to return to action. He is likely to be cut from what all the reporters say, and it isn't clear if he will play again.
I could not him even wanting to risk it again. He is prone to injury, and neck injuries could be paralyzing or even fatal.

Green Bay is expected to release Christine Michael. He's had issues pretty much everywhere he's gone but he's had decent production. Possible Eagles addition?

No thank you. He adds nothing here. Measurables don't really matter, vision and instincts do. So he's exactly not the right guy.

I agree, just figured I'd throw it out there. I'd rather just roll with Smallwood/Sproles/Clement/Pumphrey.

Tell ya what him and Clement have some similarities.

LOL and I just looked it up and Michael's last year at A&M he was 4.7 ypc. Another college offense with beastly OLines.

Yup. Seems that vision is a major issue with them. A running back is basically nothing without it. Better to have a guy with below average ability but great vision than a guy with great ability but no vision.

We should contact Cincy about Hill or Bernard, they just added Mixon, 1 of the 2 could possibly be available.

Smallwood is going to take the job and go. I think he's better than given credit for.

Yeah I think Smallwood will be a bigger part of this offense this year than most think. Whoever is running the ball should have some nice lanes to run through. Loving our o-line and depth, and I think Smallwood is getting a little underrated. He's not a stud, but the kid can run.

Smallwood flashed a little bit last year, but then wasn't given much of a chance ... I wonder if it was that his protections weren't up to snuff? As purely a runner though I seem to agree with those who think he's being a little under rated. If Mathews gets released I think Smallwood will get his shot ..

I didn't realize Smallwood tore his MCL. But it seems like Philly is not exactly sure what he will contribute either. They called it a sprain last year, but it sounds like it was really a tear.

Uh. Crap. I didn't know that either. Passing on Perine in the 4th seems dumber and dumber by the second.

We didn't pass on him, he got selected before our pick. But we probably should have traded up for a back.

I'm pretty sure he was back running in January it was a grade 2 sprain which is an incomplete tear and is typically a 6 week recovery.

I wouldn't rule out a trade, perhaps during TC, if we don't sign one of the available free agents before then.
