Very few college stats correlate to NFL success but career sacks does and cutoff for success is right about 28 and walker had 28.5. Beyond having good rush skills he has a very good motor and with the pass rushers around him he should be a quality player for us as at worst he adds in some cleanup sacks. Besides I've always liked fsu dl

Its funny when you watch a player a lot in college football and they piss ya off because you never root for the team they play on! Walker was a beast and I never root for FSU. He is now a Bronco!

I never thought I'd see him as a Bronco after getting pissed off at him all college football season watching him constantly put pressure on QB's

Was my OTC choice as well. I don't know much about Mr Walker, but if he's a leader as I hear I will like that. I'd say we need more leader types now.

The guy I would kind of compare his upside to is a former player that mouth off (i think it goes back that far maybe kffl) board broncos wanted so badly. Former northern Colorado and steeler Aaron Smith... tough in a 3-4 but would expect a consistent 6-8 sack type starter and good dl leader.

Ware Dawkins bailey..... what was our last drafted outstanding def leader Wilson. For all Miller is ... there is a clear wide gap btw him and ware in that respect and I don't think it's something that is his thing .... so good to get some more of that after losing ware and trevathan (udfa) and probably Ward soon

I'm not as down on him as Nick is.

Plenty to like. Never gives up on a play which is why his sack total was as high as it was. Has the athleticism to be a good inside pass rushing option. That is something the Broncos have desperately needed since Malik left. So day 1 he can be that for us.

I'm told his leadership is off the charts. Does well keeping players in the game.

Some things he has to work on. Needs to add some muscle. Can get pushed out of the play way too easily. At 280 lbs. he is a bit small for that DE position so just like when we drafted Malik he will need time to bulk up.

Needs to work on some awareness. They could run it at him and just let him run up field without noticing the play is going by him.

Needs to break down a bit better as well as can come in out of control.

I'm also not a fan of how many plays his first step is him standing straight up then figuring out what pass rush he wants to use. Gives the OL way too much time to get into position and make an easy block. Needs to have a fan before the snap and execute it.

Also needs to work on snap anticipation. I think if he has a plan before the snap this area should improve.

Still I like the pick. Broncos added the beef in FA but not much in the pass rush department. So Walker helps with that day 1 and adds depth at a weaker position on the team.

Talib's act may eventually wear thin and is of an age you may look to move on soon. we lost our 4th cb is Webster and a Roby looked very promising 2yrs ago but last year got picked on badly for a two game stretch then seemed to lose playing time. The no fly zone isn't as certain as it seems today
