Most 1st year RBs suck at pass protection. They don't have to do it in college and if they do the level of sophistication is much lower as well as the level of talent. It takes time. Even with all that some are good at it and some aren't.

I remember that Thompson actually sucked at it his first couple years. He has vastly improved.

I'd love to see more of thompson going forward. He appears to be the best running back on the team. That catch and run for a TD in the eagles game was a thing of beauty, I hope we see more of that.

I would to, but I don't think he can take a #1 RB pounding for a full year.
