I always thought the NFL was a TEAM sport.

Did the Dolphins ever win a Super Bowl with Dan Marino?..Hall of Fame
Jim Kelly never won a SB.....Hall of Fame
Fran Tarkenton.........Hall of Fame
Dan Fouts......Hall of Fame
Warren Moon..........Hall of Fame
Boomer Esiason
Matthew Stafford
Cam Newton
Carson Palmer
Matt Ryan
Donovan MCNabb

I was responding to a post that Alex Smith would never win the big one capisce? And I guess the answer was no, he hasn't And for you to list the 6-7 Qb's esp Newton is funny, like they are really good

2 different ways to win a Super Bowl for the Chiefs.

Dominant defense of the ages and Alex Smith
Dominant QB performances of the ages and current defense.

The team as constructed cant get there.

The Bears. They might not be in the running for a title but he played college ball in Illinois. I think it's them or the Texans if they admit Osweiler was a mistake.

has Dallas won anything major with Romo?

Again, you're insinuating the quarterback of a team, is the whole team. Not true.
And Romo, hasn't been a part of a Super Bowl championship caliber team. It's not his fault.
I've played sports. And the only thing I could do, is play to the best ability I could play.
I couldn't play FOR other players.
That's why they call it a team.

Romo's Career STATS.........before 2016 season

65.3% completion average......4th in NFL history
97.1% Passer Rating......3rd in NFL history
4th Quarter Comebacks....14th..in NFL history
4th Quarter Passer Rating.....2nd in NFL history.........1st since 2006
Last 2 minutes of a game Passer Rating.......4th in NFL History........1st since 2006

Playoff Passer Rating........93.0.....10th in NFL history

The last playoff game Romo played in, he had a passer rating of 143.6

2014 season
69.9% Completion Percentage
113.2 Passer Rating
83.62 QBR

Again a poster said that KC would never win a big game with Smith as QB, so what does your team effort shit have to do with my post. Dallas did pretty good with Zeke and Dak congrats. I'm sure Dalton gets some blame in big games and so did Matt Ryan before this year . It comes with the territory being a QB

Your D is stout, obviously need Charles back this season and a premier WR like a Dez Bryant to go along with Kelce and Hill

There is a good chance Jamaal Charles gets cut. Injuries/age/price are all things working against him then throw in the team finished 2nd in the AFC without him playing.

Yep. Just a matter of how much money he'll leave to the side to entice a couple of these teams to bite the bullet with the lame duck they have right now such as Taylor, Osweiler, Smith, Siemian/Lynch, etc.
Do you really think that Romo is a better QB TODAY than Alec Smith?

When the two of them are healthy ton Romo is the better of the two. I trust Alex Smith to make it 16 games though where Romo not sure he makes it 3.

Alex Smith just has way too many limitations to his game. He is what you want at QB if you are trying to transition or need time for a rookie to get ready to play but actual long-term solution for any team well not so much. I do think Alex Smith has been a bit underrated by some as he is a top half of the league type QB. He isn't the type of QB though when the lights are brightest that I want to put the team on his back and go out and watch him win a game. He is the type that needs things to stay on schedule and needs his defense to make some plays.

He also is not great in the red zone having I think the 4th worst QB rating among starting QB's when in the red zone. Not a place you want your QB to struggle.

DJ might be on to something here. If Da Bears (cmon DJ. It's not the bears, It's Da bears. I'll :fify: it for you now) were to have an actual prayer to compete in the North, they need a QB. They are a huge dark horse in this

He would beat out Russell Wilson for the job.

No- because in order to be good you'd have to be reliably on the field. Don't confuse my arguments for wanting Romo- I am rather adamant in that I don't. I don't believe in QBs having discriminate achievement ceilings (i.e. Win Super Bowl, win playoff games) so probability theory applies normally. And really when just looking at probability there really aren't many situations that are legitimately better than the status quo. Drafting a QB is a more logical way to address the teams' mediocrity at QB.

No, it's a serious question Cowboy fan.
Romo is and always has been a far better QB than Alex Smith. Romo's ONLY question is health, when it comes to playing the position, unless your QB is named Brady or Rodgers, Romo is as good or better than what you have on the field at QB
