i usually just dvr it, and make sure to stay away from anything that can tell me the scores until i can get home and watch. it's not so bad really, because i can just ff through commericials and medical timeouts and such.

I agree.

Although sometimes I'm bad at staying away from scores.

I remember last year I was looking at some non Yahoo sports page, but for some reason they had a ticker on the side with tennis scores, and I accidentally saw something. LOL.

Verdasco/Murray, Stephens/Halep, & Garcia-Lopez/Monfils are the matches I'm looking forward to

I want to see the 1st one, then depending on time, might watch the other two.

Fed's out. Yet another reminder that greatness if fleeting. Prime Fed is gone, and he's not coming back. If this summer is any indication, Prime Nadal may be gone as well, even if he finds a way to win here. Enjoy the great ones while you can.

Fed needs to regroup for Wimbledon. His returns were decent, but his serve was crap today. He's not gonna get broken seven times on the grass so I guess that's a good omen. He also charged the net and tended to be successful today. Where he lost was the exhausting backhand-backhand rallies. Those need to go away. He no longer has a top five backhand so he needs to quit pretending like he does.

I think FED has a hard time breaking on grass the last few years. He's gotten into extended matches with Falla in 2010, and Benneteau in 2012 because he couldn't break. Then the Tsonga match in 2011.

* Isner-Berdych: Isner got broken in the 1st game of the first two sets, and also early in the 3rd set. Berdych continued to hold, to win 6-4 6-4 6-4. Isner barely had chances to break Berdych either, just 2 or 3 times max.

Berdych was too solid.

Disappointed Isner couldn't break Berdych, but Berdych played the better game.

Other than that, Isner played well.

* Murray-Kolschreiber: They resumed at 7-7 in the 5th. Murray had a few match points quickly, on Kolschreiber's serve, but couldn't capitalize. So they played a few more games. Murray eventually had a nice return winner on match point to win 12-10 in the 5th.

* Gulbis-FED: The first two sets went to tiebreakers, with Gulbis winning the 2nd set.

Gulbis then broke FED a bunch of times in the 3rd to win that set.

FED hung around and won late in the 4th set, 6-4.

FED has tried bringing Gulbis to the net throughout the match, but Gulbis has been able to use his feet to get to balls and return fire.

In the 5th, FED competed hard but it wasn't enough.

I agree with the earlier comment that his backhand wasn't doing much.

I didn't get to watch any of the matches either as I kept checking the scores and didn't see anything intriguing. as none of the matches were really competitive

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Sharapova lose to the same girl who beat Serena? I'm actually happy she made it this far. I hate seeing those players who upset a top player in round 1and gets eliminated in the next round

i did a destination wedding all weekend, and barely had cell coverage. i was a little upset that i couldn't watch the finals.

saw the scores for them and realized that it didn't matter at all. totally fine with not seeing any of it.

There's a stat that only these players have beaten Nadal twice at majors. It's amazing how few have done it:

* Hewitt (2004 Australian Open, 2005 Australian Open).

* Ferrer (2007 US Open, 2011 Australian Open)

* Federer (2006 Wimbledon, 2007 Wimbledon)

* Djokovic (2011 Wimbledon, 2011 US Open, 2012 Australian Open)

* Murray (2008 US Open, 2010 Australian Open)

I can't believe that even someone like Djokovic, who has a good overall H2H, has done it so few times at majors.
