Perine got 3 times the touches last year. If Perine can stop fumbling he will be the first and second down back in Washington. if Perine continues to have butterfinger hands Kelly will take over for him.

His fumbling is less than a lot of big time backs

I’m placing my bet on Perine, but even if he becomes the starter I really really hope I’m not force to start him even in the flex position. That being said....it is possible I may have to use him in the flex position in the only league I own him.:fear:

Neither. They will both be as terrible as they were last year and Chris Thompson will lead the team in fantasy points. Even as a a third down back, they will try and get him on the field as much as possible just like last year. I'm not going to draft either one of them no matter what round it is.

Chris Thompson is likely to end up in the infirmary. Not %100 till November, but we're gonna play him anyways? Yea, he might just keel over week 3.

Perine without question. There were brief moments he looked competent last year. Year 2 who knows, maybe those brief moments expand into a full series here and there. But even if they don't, he'll still be netter than Kelley.

But in all honesty, they're both desperation plays

I'm with Bandit.

Not wasting a pick here.

Gruden doesn't like to use his bigger backs near the goalline anyway.

Avoid.

Kelley

Kelley was hurt the whole year last year. Perine is blah and can't be trusted to hold the ball or block.

They had Oline injuries last year that sunk the whole operation too. They'll spread the field horizontally and have some running lanes this year.

My worry is a Kelley that's 30 lbs lighter. He was a rumbling bumbling runner that got extra yards with power. If he's slimmed down to 212 he's gonna be missing a whole lot of punch and I read that he didn't run well in preseason game 1.

I have my eye on him, because I think there's value in the backfield, but he has to show me something before I target him rather than just add him late.

you don't lose 20lbs of muscle in the off season, he lost his fat, not his power. His problem isn't power or lack of, its that he has bad instincts and lacks vision

The Pats run D isn't great but I thought Perine looked pretty good running it the other night. I'll probably try to avoid this situation, too, but I wouldn't hate using a later pick on Perine as a depth RB, either.

Good to know that the Redskins expert agrees :suds:

I think Perine gets the nod, and keeps it unless he really, really sucks. But it will be a committee approach and I suspect all three Redskins backs get the rock.

I really liked Perine at Oklahoma, he is a good hard runner. Unfortunately, he is just slow. That is not something he can do anything about, and limits his upside in the NFL substantially. Best case scenario is a plodder like Alfred Morris.

I like Perine over Kelly, he’s just a banger and not someone you want in your starting lineup. However with byes and injuries it’s likely your going to have to insert a player that normally you won’t. I’d consider Perine as a very late flyer if I needed more depth at RB.

F=ma

He has less mass now.
He never had vision or instincts.
But he ran hard.
