Rhinestone Cowboy, Glen Campbell dead at 81

Glen Campbell, the indelible voice behind 21 Top 40 hits including "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman" and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," died Tuesday. He was 81. A rep for Universal Music Group, Campbell's record label, confirmed the singer's death to Rolling Stone. During a career that spanned six decades, Campbell sold over 45 million records. In 1968, one of his biggest years, he outsold the Beatles.

RIP to the ex Wrecking Crew session guitarist, & ex *Beach Boy member.
He toured with them for a few months in the early 60's, & played guitar on perhaps their best album...*Pet Sounds.
Also played bass in Ricky Nelson's band in the mid 60's.

He played with the group The Champs....... Tequila!! But they came out with the song before he was a member.

I love Glen Campbell and know that he was battling Alzheimer for a long time. He is in a better place now.

I saw him when I was just a little kid in the mid 90's. Don't remember much about the show. He opened up for George Jones(who I met and shook hands with numerous times at that venue) IIRC.
