Rex Ryan said yesterday that the New England Patriots turned down several offers from AFC yeams of a first and second round pick for Jimmy Garapollo. Ryan indicated that both the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills made the exact same offer.

Any idiot would know that Belichick wouldn't trade the guy he hand picked and bred to replace Tom Brady to a division rival for 3 first and second round picks.

Garapollo is in San Francisco where the Patriots will only cross his path every four years or in the Super Bowl.

Probably true but why in God's green earth would BB trade Jimmy to Bills or Jets?

This is the moron that predicts winning the title every preseason when he was a coach.

Wouldn't shock me to see Belichick retire pretty much right after Brady retires. He knows he's not gonna get that lucky twice

And it was probably wise of the Patriots. Jimmy G looks like a stud and they got him out of the conference. The only serious question is whether they should have pulled a Young/Montana and kept him over Brady.

People jumb to conclusions too soon.

He hasn't played a full season yet. I think he'll be fine, but we need to wait and see how he does over 16 games.

Also we don't know what the Patriots got in return yet. What if, for instance, it's a QB that is just as good, or better? Or an elite pass rusher, etc. Until the draft happens, that player is picked, and we get a chance to see that player perform, we really don't know how the trade went.

Wait. Are you saying you think it is better for the Pats to get a 2nd round pick from SF than a 1st and 2nd from a division rival? That is nuts. Especially if it was the Jets and their top 6 pick in two of the last three years. I get the whole idea of in division trading, but no team would pass up a free 1st rounder to do it. And remember not only are you giving a player to a division rival but you are also taking away their first and 2nd rounders, plus the guy could end up sucking.

There is also reporting out there, that they were never actually offered that. It's anon sources, to drive sports coverage.

That was kind of my point. I don't think any team was giving that up or the Pats would have taken it. BB worries about making his team better and feels he can beat anyone else. I don't see him being worried about giving Jimmy G to the Jets if he is getting back a #1 and #2

Jimmy G isn't Drew Bledsoe.

He shipped him to the left coast, and I don't think Rex knows what was actually offered.

Rex is an idiot. I'm not sure he knows anything other than that he, his brother and his Father are the 3 greatest defensive Football minds since the game was created...

It really did not matter what the Pats got for the young QB. Belichick will retire the same year Brady retires as they make each other and without either it wont work.

Strong possibility of that, but we won't know until that day comes.

Jimmy plays under the tag in 18. Brady retires after the 18 season. Jimmy G back in NE to start the 19 season:hope:

There was/is NO WAY BB Would've traded Jimmy G to the NYJ. Do people not remember how Spygate started? ManGina
has since tried to apologize. BB has been his typical closed mouth self.

So Rex Ryan is confirming NE isn't dumb enough to trade their backup QB within the division.

Fuckin Earth shattering news right there.
