Report: DT 'Pot Roast' Knighton is out shape

An anonymous head coach tells NBC Washington that "teams are afraid to sign" free agent DT Terrance Knighton because he's out of shape.

Knighton is meeting with the Redskins on Thursday, but has already been passed on by former coaches in Oakland and Chicago. He was expected to be a hot commodity as a run stuffer, and was at one point outrageously seeking $8 million per year. It's not exactly surprising that someone nicknamed "Pot Roast" is out of shape, but Knighton could cost himself all sorts of money by not hitting the open market in the shape he's expected to be in.

Look at all run stuffing, space eating, double team takers in the league. They are all grossly over weight for a reason (ie; Wilfork) but do there jobs all the same. Knighton will allow us to do multiple things defense wise, draft wise and personnel wise.

That is good news for us. His price should drop. He is not worth 8mil but he is worth 5. The longer this goes the more the price drops. Even if we give him 6, yes its an overpay but its a huge need that will be filled. Then we can draft Waynes in the draft. Would be loving our defense if this happened.
