about five years ago, I got something similar to this:

Zotac ZBOX-ID86-U Intel NM10 Mini / Booksize Barebone System - Newegg.com

It's gotten too slow. I'm looking for something along the same lines, preferably without a fan.

Here is a tiny Zotac box:
ZOTAC C Series ZBOX CI327 NANO, Palm-Sized Passive Cooled Mini PC, Intel N3450 Quad-Core CPU, Intel HD Graphics 500, Support Up to 3 Displays. 4K Ready Barebones No Memory/Storage/OS, ZBOX-CI327NANO-U - Newegg.com
Most recent review doesn't inspire confidence, but that might have been a lemon.

Here's another one that's similar:
GIGABYTE GB-BXBT-1900 (rev. 1.0) 1 x 204Pin SO-DIMM Intel HD Graphics Black Mini / Booksize Barebone System - Newegg.com

One with a remote (presumably for HTPC) and if I read the specs right 2 internal bays.
ASRock Beebox N3150/B Mini / Booksize Barebone System - Newegg.com
Hard to believe something that small has room for 2. Not sure what I'd use a 2nd bay for, if anything.

The one I'm leaning toward:
Intel NUC (Next Unit of Computing) BOXNUC6CAYH Barebone Systems - Mini / Booksize - Newegg.com
Intel sells the same box with an I7 for about $500. All of these are about 1/2 the speed of an I3, which should be good enough for my purposes. This one rates a little faster than the others.

Any suggestions?
