I don't think he wouldve ever been a Major League catcher.

And now he can't run from here to there without destroying his ankles.

Hopefully he can find a position that suits him and get healthy, because he can hit.

Maybe not, but there was no reason for the Sox to stick him in LF to try to fill a short term need.

That's just it, I don't think the intention was for the move to ever be short term. There was a logjam at catcher and the Sox wanted Vasquez and Swihart to develop simultaneously. Had Blake never hurt himself, it may have worked out for him. I'm not defending the move in retrospect, but I can kind of understand it.

I remember wanting Swihart to the centerpiece of a package to get Chris Sale after the 2014 season. Nailed it.

why?

Doug Fister - S - Red Sox
Red Sox manager John Farrell announced Friday that Doug Fister has been moved to the bullpen.

With the rest of the Red Sox rotation finally healthy, there's no room for a struggling veteran right-hander to take the ball every fifth day. He won't be available until Sunday at the earliest after throwing 100 pitches against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

I remember when I thought Nolasco was going to be really good. Whoops.
