I'm shocked more players haven't more of this hasn't happened with the season they have had they need to hire a good DC and the sooner the better I don't think they have recruited LB much and it certainly is a blow but they should have plenty of guys at that position. With Adams and White as incoming freshmen, Jonathan Jones Daelin Hayes and Jamir Jones as red shirt freshmen or sophomores, Tevon Coney, Asmar Bilal, and Josh Barajas as red shirt sophomores or juniors, and Nyles Morgan, and Greer Martini as red shirt juniors or seniors. So around 10 LB's not terrible depth or certainly could be worse. I don't know if Onwualu is has a 5th year available or not?

True but none of them have super star ability. This year proved that. Some might turn out ok but nothing special. We have 0 pass rushers on this team. Maybe Hayes can be that but who knows I guess.

I doubt Werner would have helped with the pass rush and that any of the LB's even Werner are Super Star ability anyway. They really need a pass rusher hopefully Hayes and Kareem can fill that void next year.

Just because someone leaves does not mean that we missed out on something special. There are plenty who left and were just OK. I mean how did that LB who left for Florida a few yrs back work out?

Also did we just pick up a 4* DL???

True u never know what these kids will be its still nice to land a 4 or 5 star recruit at a position on need. LB is a need.

We just dont get the top guys. Once in awhile we do. We draft well at Oline and that is about it. I guess you can say QB and TE(even though we have struggled the last 2 years) to. Here is our Top 3 recruits this year.

    1)TE Brock Wright- Rank 68th
    2)OG Robert Hainsey- Rank 75th
    3)TE Cole Kmet- Rank 96th

Good players but 2 are TE's and the other is a Guard. Neither will play next year. Now if our Top 3 were DE,LB, CB then the class would look better in my eyes because those spots are needs. Yes We need TE but rookie TEs dont play and we have Jones coming back. Frosh Guard will not see the field next year. We have no Top 50 talent at positions of need.

    Last year top 3:
    1)OT Tommy Kreamer- Rank 27th
    2)OT Liam Eichenberg- Rank 80th
    3)WR Javon McKinley- Rank 111th

Again no top need spots. 1 Player in the top 50. All 3 didnt help.

    2015 Class Top :
    1)QB Brandon Wimbush: Rank 45th
    2)TE A. Jones: Rank 62
3)Center Tristen Hoge: 2 of the 3 havent seen field and 1 Jones saw little action and then got suspended this year.

Thats 3 years in a row No top Defensive player. No 5 star player in 3 years.

    Big Recruiting weekend coming up.
ND Banquet weekend. Here are some names that will be there.
4 star LB Antjuan Simmons; He just de committed from OSU on Wed night. After ND losing a LB recruit ND reached out to Simmons and next thing you know he de committed. Suppose its between ND and MSU. This would be a nice rebound recruit to land after losing a top LB.
4 star DE Joshua Paschal; ND is in the lead for his services. This will be his 2nd trip to ND.
4 star WR Jamire Calvin: ND is 2nd right now behind Nebraska but Calvin has been waiting for this trip for awhile now. ND is a player in this.
4 star WR Oliver Martin: ND has put the most work in on this kid. Denbrock #1 target. ND is in 2nd right now behind Mich.

This is great, to land 3 4 star recruits already. They cant go anywhere now. This Robertson kid is going to be a good one. Wright might see some action as a Frosh.

We have 1 more coming in by next week. 4 star RB CJ Holmes.

Is Cole Kmet still on board. Picking up Wright means we get two rivals top 100 players at TE.

Looks like the Irish landed a 4 star OL today. The commitment came from OT Aaron Banks (6-7, 315 lbs.) from California. He also had offers from Michigan, USC, UCLA, Nebraska, Tennessee and many others. 247Sports has him ranked as the #172 ranked player overall, #19 tackle and #20 in the state of California. Great get, and I'm glad to have him. Let's go get a few DL too!

    GO IRISH! Onward to Victory!

Foster Sarell had been trending else where so getting Banks was a great addition. I'm hoping they can land Antjuan Simmonds, Joshua Paschal, and another DB preferably Thomas Graham Jr (the most likely top CB Notre Dame has a chance with).
