Charles Nelson confirms he will visit ND. This is big for ND. This kid is only a 3 star but word is he is a crazy athlete. Not a player that will play right away but by year 2 watch out.

Nyles Morgan looks like he will be all Irish. Nice 4 star get if we land him. We need some good LBs.

Shock if he doesn't pick ND.

For Christmas I would like Elam and Ju Ju. Elam to replace Nix and Ju Ju to help our safety play because I feel we don't have anyone that great at safety.

I feel like the verdict is still out on Redfield, The staff should just play the kid in the Bowl game and give him some experience because the guy at the top of the page can't play.

Also Alabama landing Frazier a big NT prospect out of Arkansas could help Notre Dame on the Elam front.

I just don't understand why they haven't played him over #41, sure maybe he doesn't know everything yet but the best way to learn is in the game, he couldn't have looked any worse getting run over by a RB than #41. I'm not calling him by his name anymore, he shouldn't even have a jersey with the way he's played.

He may not know it all, but sometimes that is a good thing. Just go out there and play and play loose. I mean he was talented coming out of HS(4Star?). This kid needs to get his feet wet before next yr. #41 does not deserve to be on the field at all, period!

Alabama landed a JUCO DT Jarran Reed #30 in ESPN JC50. Add that to Frazier and it looks more and more like it's between Notre Dame and Kentucky for Elam.

Good News and Bad News about Ju Ju Smith. It looks like ND is in his Final 2. Looks like its between ND and USC. Family loved the coaches visit yesterday and his parents love ND.

Here comes the bad news. Smith grew up a USC fan and USC's new coach just hired Ju Ju's Uncle as the RBs coach.

The staff is going back on Monday to see him again. Full court press is being put on. He can play RB/WR/CB or Safety in college football. ND wants him in the secondary and special teams.

I've often wondered about the coaches hires and find the practice suspect, if not outright sleazy. Every so often you hear about some kids' high school coach just being offered a coaching job (usually a down the line and expendable job) because they are recruiting his star player. I am curious as to how long these guys are retained after they get their prize. Unseemly, but I guess that goes on all the time. I suspect Ju Ju will be a Trojan, based on his childhood dreams and uncle getting a job. I am sure that was more than a mere coincidence.

I would think hiring a kid's uncle as a recruiting violation.

I fucking hate the recruiting process. It is a sham all over the country. I wish kids could just choose schools because they want to go there not because there is extra incentives outside of a scholarship. Notre Dame is guilty of this too. Robby Toma was used to sway Manti. He turned out to be a nice player for ND but he wasn't recruited by ND was he?

Seriously. he was an assistant under Sark at Washington since before the 2009 season. JuJu was probably 12-13 years old. That would have been some serious pre planning. lol

With coaches offering 12 year olds now, who knows. :noidea: In all seriousness, if thats the case I'm inclined to think its just a coincidence. But this sort of thing does go on, and I don't know how often these guys get cut loose after the kid signs, like one year later.
