Would be nice to get Gurley...but yeah we'll have 3 good(supposedly) RB's next year so I wouldn't be surprised if he chose Clemson

Interesting indeed, but I don't know that this article doesn't say what we all already knew. Top ranked classes TYPICALLY result in wins and high rankings for schools. But coaching is a big factor as well.

Agreed. That's why we have 5 stars that are shit when they get in a college and 3 stars that go on to win Heismans. The star system is a good indicator of how good a player can be at the higher levels, but it all falls on the coaching staff of who their committed to.

Agreed.

Since 2006, only 25 different schools have finished in the top 10 of the final Associated Press poll at least once; 15 have finished that high at least twice, accounting for 40 of the 50 top-10 slots in that span. And fully half of those slots – 26 of 50 – have been occupied by one of 10 schools: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas and USC.

Those 10 also happen to be among the 13 schools – along with Florida State, Miami and Tennessee (three programs with terrible coaching for much of the last decade) – that have consistently finished at the top of the recruiting rankings.

Looks like UF might jump to #1 in the recruiting rankings soon. Got a lot of undecided 5 stars that I know for sure 2 or 3 are leaning to UF.

Texas just took Tennessee's top recruit, Santos.......if they pull off the miracle and get DGB, they have the top class no question, not that it really matters. I'll just be happy if half these kids produce and don't bust.

Virginia Tech has a big class, deepest on the defensive side. They have 5 good linebackers and a bunch of DBs and lineman.

They missed a lot on the O Line and did not get a quarterback though. They did get three high end running backs though.

If they finish with Kirven, Ekanem and Caleb, it will be a solid top 20 class which is really high for them. They will get Ekanem and Caleb, and will likely get Kirvan as well.

(they may lose a linebacker to Miami, but it is a pretty deep position, so it should not hurt too much)
