It was the waterboy's fault. He mixed benadryl withe Tide's water hoping to kesp them from havi g allergies during the game but it made them sleepy late in the 4th quarter.

Seriously, its a team effort and they lost as a team. Everyone contributed to the loss.

Bama dropped 31 on Clemson, the team that shutout Ohio State the weak prior.

I blame the defense.

Alabama lost because the offense wasn't that good under Lane either.

After Alabama beat Washington and Clemson depants Ohio State, I wrote that Clemson has a chance.

Alabama has a great defense, no doubt, but the offense is average at best.

Clemson's defense much better than Alabama's offense

Alabama's defense much better than Clemson's Offense.

Clemson Offense much, much, much better than Alabama Offense.

Alabama Defense much better than Clemson defense.

Alabama just got beat by the better team. Alabama has been getting takeaways and scoring on defense all year. Deshaun Watson averaged more than one interception per game this year, and Alabama even with the incredible rush defense we've all heard about couldn't get an interception against Watson.

I think Alabamas weakness in the secondary got exposed. In the last two years, the only quality quarterbacks they've faced have been Deshaun Watson and Chad Kelly. They're 2-2 in those four games.

Watching film on OJ Howard has been painful. He'd be a top 5 pick if he was on Clemson.

Bamas secondary is better than most but it doesn't have the depth you want to see in a national champion.

I don't see that at all. I thought this was one of the better Bama teams. They pulverized everyone on their way here. They were loaded with more talent than pretty much any other. Hurts is the dual threat Bama needed and with some more polish will be a huge star. I think Bo might be better than their other recent running backs (even Henry). They didn't have a lot of holes, they just were slightly weaker in the secondary since Saban's gameplan involves throwing everything at the QB and leaving the secondary out on islands. They lost because their defense, possibly the best defense ever (held an extremely deadly offense with a potential first round QB, WR, and RB to 7 in the first half), got gassed because they had to play 100 snaps. I think Bama was the more talented team without question, but even the best athletes get tired.

Every other Bama team had true playmakers. The Julio Jones and Mark Ingrams, etc.......this team had who, Hurts? Not really. OJ Howard? Not quite.

I think every title team Saban has had would have KILLED this team. They pulverized an SEC where NO other team had less than what, 4 losses?

They pulverized some other teams, too. Last I checked USC and Washington weren't SEC.

AJ McCarron gets them the title with this team. Another 1 or 2 above average players in the secondary gets them the title.

You're making my point for me.

Previous Bama teams had more playmakers. I think player for player this was the worst Bama team to get there. That isn't to say it's not a very very good team. But I think all Sabans other title teams kill this team.

Hurts needed to develop as a passer during the season and it didn't happen.

I agree but a 3 point lead with 2 minutes left and all you are asking is Alabama to get one stop with a defense that is suppose to be that good. I'm sure they would take that chance again. Peace.

You can throw an average QB out there with that defense and running game. Hurts even ran the ball well and Clemson had two costly turnovers and they couldn't get it done. You have to put that on Hurts, freshman and all, 13-31 where he missed a ton of open WR's. One of his only good throws was to a wide-open Howard. He didn't look very good at all honestly. He will never have a better d-line and LB core than he did this year to bail him out. Hurts had a great season for a freshman but he didn't face too much adversity all year, should be a learning experience for the youngster.

Yes, but the defense was wore out by the end of the game due to the offense going 3 and out so much. So in the end the defense had the chance, but they were just done for.
