Tough one.

Non contenders won't want him, contenders won't want to give up anything of significant value. I do not think his trade value is nearly as high as Knick fans want it to be. You are not likely to get a young star in return.

Or Wiggins

That is what i mean. No chance you get a player that good.

Melo is on the downside of his career. He is no longer a top 20 player. There are probably at least 50 guys I would take over Melo in a 1 for 1 deal. Wiggins and Griffin are far more valuable because of their respective ages.

He's not going to waive his no trade clause.

You asked for realistic.

Why would the Wolves trade Wiggins for Melo? Makes no sense at all.

Because they have too many young players at once they need a more polished player.

You want names of players that any competent GM would value higher than Melo?

Here is a start: (in no particular order)

LeBron
Durant
Curry
Westbrook
Harden
Paul
Lillard
Davis
KAT
Cousins
Giannis
Klay
Draymond
Irving
Love (you would have had a shot here last year, not now)
McCollum
IT3
DeRozan
Lowry
George
Butler
Myles Turner
Jabari Parker
Wall
Porzingis (I know he is a Knick too)
Booker
Bledsoe
Russell
Ingram
Randle (Lakers are not better, but they are not trading these guys for melo)
Wiggins
LaVine
Jokic
M. Gasol
Conley
Leonard
Aldridge
Hayward
Gobert
Favors
Drummond
Whiteside
K. Walker
Embiid
Simmons
Saric (not better, but why this trade)
A. Bradley
Griffin
D. Jordan

That is just off the top of my head and does not count guys like Millsap and Horford who are about as good as Melo now. There are probably more guys I am missing. That is 49.

You're joking right ?

No.

You want realistic.

In trades, age and contract matters a lot.

No young rebuilding team would want Melo unless they got him for peanuts. Every one of the players I listed is either better now or has more future value. Nobody is giving a prime asset for a 32 year old who has a reputation of being selfish. Ain't happening.

It happens all the time.

Mel is still a stop player in the NBA

Let's hear your proposal so I can laugh.

Lol what with his history of making other players better. Makes sense.
