My mother had a fully optioned 2012 with the V6.

You could not pay me to own that thing.

Felt like it was going to fall off it's wheel on any corner.
that's one of my bigger complaints about the Forester, it only has a 4 cyl. It is a belt driven motor, which helps with acceleration, but since all Subarus have gone to 4cyl with no help from turbos or anything, I have been turned off to them.

I'd prefer a used S4 Avant.....

I'm not a fan of SUVs in any form.

I'm a car guy.

Before I bought my S4 sedan I test drove an X3. Not my cuppa...
a roommate in college had an S4 he bought with his signing bonus senior year. It was before they got rid of the V8 engines. That thing was niiiiiiice.

Mine is the SC V6. Slightly less HPs but more torques.....

A really sweet car, even if it isn't an RS unit. Got the trick diff and the dual clutch paddle shifter unit.

Pretty substantial when compared to the gas only front wheel drive. Bonus of the hybrid is the electric engine kicks it into AWD as needed.

Don't know much about suvs but the Toyota is probably the most reliable. Everything they build is pretty solid, American manufacturers try to keep up. The CRV will need a new head gasket after 100K. Subaru has kind of a loyal following. My brother in law has owned a Forrester for about 20 years it seems.

Subaru owners are very loyal. They now put badges on Subarus showing what number Subaru you are on, which I thought was pretty cool.

Oh no doubt about Subaru owners. As for the CRV head gasket I was under the impression that like the transmissions of the early years of this century Honda has figured that out.

We drive our cars into the ground and at our age our next cars could be our last. Considering this SUV for my wife, love the MPG and AWD of the hybrid but I've never owned one. I would expect a standard engine to go 250,000 miles, can I expect the same with a hybrid?

Whats the fucking outcome.

Did you go with the noise terrible driving Toyota????

F5977A95-64A9-4053-8649-C4CBB570F828.jpeg We bought this Toyota RAV4 Limited Hybrid a year ago and we are very pleased with it. To me anyway, with the softech imitation leather seats, it is very comfortable on a trip and I don’t seem to mind any road noise. As far as quality, I have not had one bit of trouble so far, not the same with other new cars that we have had through the years. I get an average 35mpg in town and highway. It has 4 modes; normal, Eco., Sport and EV. It doesen’t get what the Prius gets in gas mileage, but then again it is AWD and a sport utility which is heavier. I love the turning radius and the storage room. It has an Atkinson gas engine and an electric motor in the front and one in the rear. 174 horse power, 2.5 engine.

Updates sumbitch.

Oh, I looked at the Subaru Crosstrek.
Didn't drive it, but liked it otherwise.

Oh we weren't ready to buy yet, I was just doing research in case the wife's car shits the bed. But we're leaning towards getting her another Mazda 3. She loves that little pocket rocket and the 10 days a year we need an SUV for trips we'll put one of those luggage rack things off the back. This way she spends the year driving a car that gets 38 MPG and a lot of fun instead of maybe 30 MPG.

I like that Crosstreck too, I always check them out when I see them. It should be considered for sure. Subaru has a real loyal owner base but they still don't have the reliability of a Toyota.

Sorry, I was wrong. For what it matters, the 2.5 engine delivers 194 horse power at 5700 rpm. Not 174.

Since I looked at them and know what they look like now, I have seen them everywhere. They are all over the fucking place. I thought they just brought that model out.

I'm still doing that with Rav 4's. That may he my next purchase. Wife is set on the Mazda 3 but as I get older climbing in and out of a car may be a bitch. 35 MPG on the hybrid mentioned above works for me.
