Would love to see some more MD basketball fans here. This is a good team and they are playing without Wells and to a lesser degree Smotrycz.

Unlike previous years this team has a lot of talented players but guys who play within the system. I think this team is heading to the NCAA tournament this year.

Another step in the right direction

Although not ranked, OSU rarely loses home OOC games and MD (except for a slight let down in the last 2 mins) kept this game out of their reach. Combined with the IowaSt win, this is just what the committee looks for when deciding tourney seeds. A good test against a tough experienced team in a rough place to play, and a good prep game for the B1G schedule.
MD may wear down at some point, freshman-laden teams often do. But Trimble is playing like a 2 year guy and the other newbs appear to have bought into their roles and are for the most part doing just fine. Hope there's no struggle to re-adjust when Wells comes back. It may take a couple of games before he feels comfortable shooting again and with Layman stepping up, Wells may not have to put up a lot of shots.

It has been a fun year. I agree there will be an adjustment period when Dez comes back.

welp, we've now seen the BAD MD

An all around clunker last night vs Illinois. Give Ill credit for unconscious offense opening the second half, and for confusing MD with a solid zone D. MD couldn't hit a shot if we handed them stepladders and while the D wasnt bad it couldn't save the offense. Turge has rarely gotten outcoached, but last night he didnt have answers to the zone or with some confusing lineup changes.
Not gonna freak over one clunker, but Purdue suddenly becomes a much bigger game (not just because they have 2 decent 7 footers either).

So explain how MD (17-2) is not ranked above Iowa St (14-3) and having lost to MD?
