Nicely done Cole. 96 pitch complete game

I saw his last complete game in Arlington live on Oct 4, 2015. When he gave up a 2 run bomb to Pujols in the 1st and then didn't give up another run. Rangers clinched the division. Great game!

Watched this one on tv and it was a very well pitched game as well! Great job by Cole after the last 3 starts

In the case of Hamels, it was once again finding the feel for his changeup, the pitch that got him to the major leagues a decade ago. It led to a thrifty 96-pitch complete game 4-1 win over Minnesota. It was the fewest pitches in a complete game by a Ranger in more than four seasons.

While the changeup was the offspeed pitch that got Hamels to the majors and gave rise to his career, in recent years, he's tried to change hitters' approach with harder offspeed stuff. But Hamels is now 33 and the velocity is starting to leak off the fastball. The key now for longer life is being able to take just a little more off pitches than trying to add velocity that can no longer be classified as overpowering.

The Oakland Athletics have traded first baseman Yonder Alonso to the Seattle Mariners for minor league outfielder Boog Powell.

The team announced the trade Sunday afternoon.

Alonso, 30, is having a breakthrough power season while playing on a one-year contract, batting .266 with a career-high 22 home runs and 49 RBIs. His previous career high for homers in a single season was nine in 2012 with the San Diego Padres.

He has seen a power dip since the All-Star break, with only two home runs and a slugging percentage that has dropped to .377; he slugged .562 before the break.

Nice start

Berrios threw 41 pitches, gave up two blasts/5 runs, yet still struck-out the side. Kind of odd.

And Nick K's the side too. This has the makings for a weird game.

Maybe Nick was tipping his pitches. Now that I think of it that was probably Dyson's problem too.
