Not going to pinch hit a left handed hitter to face a left handed pitcher
Lino hanging tuff
You were saying?
Really happy to see that for Delino.
fucking than you Delino...wood had nothing left to put him away.
Had to blow up our pen to do it, but we got it done. Just happy to get a W tonight. Don't expect to contend this year so I'm just going to enjoy the wins.
And DDJ Wins it.
Great game boys. Have a good night and see ya tomorrow
Also, yes. Really want these two to figure it out.
@saddles. Cashner with two damn solid starts so far, huh?
Kind of like the 2013 team. We had an awful early season that year too.
So many unknowns. Yu contract, Lucroy extension?
Ah too early to tell.
2nd in the AL in home runs and 2nd in runs.
Those are 2 of the most important stats.
They are great stats, just imagine what this team could do if they could get on base.
Maybe last night was the eye opener of "we don't have to hit HR's, a double and single will do the same". Odor is in love with the long ball and he needs to get back to being a double machine. Elvis finally has figured it out I think, he just needs to get on base.
Beltre is the missing piece here. We don't have that veteran power guy in the middle to give everyone peace of mind, that if they just get on base he will bring them in. It feels like they all think it is up to them to score themselves, and with so many hitting <.200 I don't blame them.
And lastly I REALLY wish the Rangers would be the first team to say "screw the shift, eat this" and start bunting away from it. Last night if Gallo would have just laid down a bunt to the third base side he could have walked to first. I know it seems cheap, but so is playing your entire infield to the right of 2nd base. No way old man Wood was gonna track the ball down and a new catcher back there? Just push it down the line and stroll to first.
Or even on the first pitch square up, even if you don't attempt at it. Give em something to think about.
I've got to say though, our BP was heavily used last night but I didn't see a huge workload for any of them. Kela and Alvarez won't be ready to go tonight but the rest should be fine. And they gave us 7.2 innings of 1 hit baseball. Holy cow, I mean I watched the entire game and knew they were doing well but didn't realize they allowed just 1 hit and none for the FIVE INNINGS!
If we could get that and our hitters could just bump their averages up to .250 this team is going places.
5th in runs. But 11th in hits, 12th in OBP, and dead last in batting average.
He is doing great so far. Maybe I will have to eat my words and we will have another trade chip.
Any update on Ross? I think it's too early in the season to be talking trade chips. We will be getting Beltre back soon and we typically dominate the Astros. I haven't given up on this season yet, even tho the start has been pretty awful.
