I guess no one is noticing that the usage (%) is going down the later they were drafted?

I totally love your stuff, but I must ask; as an avowed rookie hater, does this matter to you at all?

I think not, sir!

@TKOSpikes - I tried to find an appropriately funny gif for Benson. Sadly, I failed. :tsk::tsk::tsk:

every year , especially in our dynasty league everyone thinks that later round rooks are a big threat.......some are but most arent......we think the 3-4-5-6-7 round guys are the next coming or are gonna upseat starters, or guys that are even the back ups NOW, because we if they were drafted then they must be to replace someone

Agreed, but for the most part it's the guys who don't have the early picks and have to dig harder.

That's me! :D

no its not just u, so many guys when trying to trade for rookies want a "starting RB", or at least a wr2 for a guy that was taken in round 3-4-5

But seriously, the ADP or round or whatever doesn't matter to me; it's the research and the gut feeling you acquire from it.

I'll give ya this; Fournette looks like a great pick, dynasties being a no-brainer and even has a great outlook in redrafts.

The rest? I dunno; redrafts? It's a crapshoot; I like Cook to have a good shot, but it's a pretty bad situation he's in. Mixon seems to be the flavor right now, but suddenly Hill seems to be gaining momentum; if Gio is healthy, he's a decent wild card.

Ty Montgomery was all the rage last season, but he also gave a small sample, really. The Packers didn't draft 4 RBs for nothing. Can Ty hold up as a feature back? Maybe. Stay tuned, sports fans.

The Vikes and Packers RB scenarios are the most fascinating to me at this point; I could add the 49ers and Colts to that list.

If Hyde is healthy, is there any question that he is not the starter? Not in my mind, but the health is a valid issue.

Gore has one more year in him, again, health issues aside. There is no one else. If Luck is not fully back right away, they may actually have to depend on him for goal line situations.

Who are the true workhorse RBs coming into this season? David Johnson. EE. Shady. Le'Veon. Ajayi. Jordan Howard. DeMarco? Could be. Maybe Fournette. Maybe Melvin. Maybe Crowell. Maybe Gurley.

Who else? That's a lot I just listed. I bet they ain't all gonna make the grade, but...who knows at this point?

I look at Rooks and dynasty, at least in preseason, like this;
Nothing is worth anything more than you can get someone to pay for it, and since these rooks have never taken the field they're quite literally worthless and priceless at the same time, so if you have something that someone else desires, you owe it not only to yourself but to the entire league to find out just what they'll pay for it.

Lol, I agree with you up to that point.

Also, RBs were drafted a lot earlier in 2005, so a 3rd round RB in 2005 is prob more like a 4th/5th round guy now, or maybe worse.

Looks pretty even to me, comparing the 2005 RB draft with the 2017? :noidea: The impact rookies drafted in the first. A few in the 2nd. Etc, etc.

Pick / Player / Tm / Rush Stat Line / Percentage of Carries / Notes
2 Ronnie Brown MIA 207/907/4, 47% - Ricky Williams carried 38%
4 Cedric Benson CHI 67/262/0, 14% - Thomas Jones carried 64%
5 Cadillac Williams TB 290/1178/6, 63%
44 J.J. Arrington ARI 112/370/2, 31% - Marcel Shipp carried 44%
54 Eric Shelton CAR dnp
65 Frank Gore SF 127/608/3, 30% - Kevan Barlow carried 41%
73 Vernand Morency HOU 46/184/2, 10% - Domanick Williams carried 53%
77 Ryan Moats PHI 55/278/3, 15% - Brian Westbrook had 43%
101 Maurice Clarett DEN dnp
109 Marion Barber DAL 138/538/5, 26% -Julius Jones 49%
110 Brandon Jacobs NYG 38/99/7, 8% - Tiki Barber 76%
112 Ciatrick Fason MIN 32/62/4, 9% - Mewelde Moore led with 41%
127 Alvin Pearman JAX 39/149/1, 7% - Fred Taylor 39%
130 Darren Sproles SD 8/50/0, 2% - LaDainian Tomlinson 73%

for reference, this years' picks:
4 Fournette
8 McCaffrey
41 Cook
48 Mixon
67 Kamara
86 Hunt
89 Foreman
105 Connor
114 Perine
121 Joe Williams
134 Jamaal Williams

I totally love your stuff, but I must ask; as an avowed rookie hater, does this matter to you at all?
I'm not a rookie hater!!! I'm a numbers guy. A bean counter.
And the historical numbers say that first round picks have a less than 50% chance of getting at least 900 all-purpose yards.

All I do is rank the rookies according to the numbers. Not according to the hype.
Fournette's ADP is the RB12 and McCaffrey is the RB15? Way too high.

Since that's the case, I'm probably gonna miss out on most every rookie. So be it.
Cause the numbers only get worse the later they were drafted.

Well one hype class does always = another hype class. However for redraft purposes I sort of lean your way some.

Forgot this nugget:
1. I drafted Benson that year.
When Benson came to camp and shot off his mouth about being the starter over Thomas Jones, I knew it wouldn't go well for him in Chicago. Guys who shoot their mouth off usually eat humble pie.

Whatever happened to Joseph Randle?

In somewhat related news, Lucky Whitehead got popped. :pound::pound::pound:
