The team was supposedly Gruden's Raiders, which means he would've been a backup and hopefully never needed to play. Maintaining that reaction time would be crucial to his survival, and being 8 years removed from the game is just too much to overcome, especially at his age.

Some people can't grade a draft without early round picks being involved.

I remember watching that draft and thinking why the fuck did we take a running back there when we could've gotten good ones later. I even remember getting into a heated discussion over it with RF88 after the pick was announced. I was definitely proven wrong about Gurley and glad for it.

You weren't wrong though, seeing a very similar back go to the Cards in the 3rd round.

The biggest mistake the Rams made that draft was not calling La'el Collins bluff and drafting him. Even though they had already taken 5 OL, they needed all the help they could get and 7th rounders are usually throw away picks anyways, so why not take the chance and call his bluff?
We definitely could use that guy over Brown.
