This is sad. Do these other regions even deserve playoff baseball? WTF.

Phillies got it too (up 7-0 in the 7th), and looks like the Dbacks gonna close too

All series went 2-0, no games tomorrow :(

Bochy magic. Baltimore should be concerned, because they're about to get the very best version of Texas.
It's baseball playoffs, every team has a shot with the short sample sizes.

The Giants were underdogs in every series they were in all 3 championship years

Rangers are the team I picked to root for (due to Bochy and them never having won)

The race through the playoffs has been swift. So long to all of the teams that won the most games...
(1)ATL (104-58) L 3-1
(2)BAL (101-61) L 3-0
(3)LAD (100-62) L 3-0
(4)TB (99-63) L 2-0
(5)MIL (92-70) L 2-0

(2)HOU (90-72) v (5)TEX (90-72)
(4)PHI (90-72) v (6)ARZ (84-78)

Not a huge baseball fan, but are there too many playoff teams? The regular season's top-5 teams went 1-13 in the playoffs. Rust waiting for the wildcard round to finish? If they went back to 8 playoff teams I'd be in favor of this...

AL
(1)BAL (101-61) vs (4)MIN (87-75)
(2)TB (99-63) vs (3)HOU (90-72)**
**would play TEX (90-72) in a play-in game

NL
(1)ATL (104-58) vs (4)PHI (90-72)
(2)LAD (100-62) vs (3)MIL (92-70)

*Higher seed wins 1; lower seed must win 2 to advance
*1-Wildcard--(5)TOR (89-73) vs (6)MIN (87-75)

*2-Wildcard--(4)TEX (90-72) vs (5)TOR (89-73)
ALDS (best-of-5)
(1)BAL (101-61) vs (4)TEX (90-72)
(2)TB (99-63) vs (3)HOU (90-72)

ALCS (best-of-7)
(1)BAL (101-61) vs (2)TB (99-63)
*Higher seed wins 1; lower seed must win 2
*1-Wildcard--(5)MIA (84-78) vs (6)ARZ (84-78)

*2-Wildcard--(4)PHI (90-72) vs (5)MIA (84-78)

NLDS (best-of-5)
(1)ATL (104-58) vs (4)PHI (90-72)
(2)LAD (100-62) vs (3)MIL (92-70)

NLCS (best-of-7)
(1)ATL (104-58) vs (2)LAD (100-62)

World Series (best-of-7)
ATL (104-58) vs BAL (101-61)

Just an idea. This would shave a little rust time off of the higher seeds.

If Philly and Texas are the pennant winners, they have the same record...who gets home field advantage?

I guess same for if Houston is the opponent

It goes by head to head record now. If it is Phillies Astros, Phillies get home field. Phillies Rangers, Rangers get home field.

Right, duh, everyone plays everyone. So even if your overall record is worse if you won head to head you get home field?

No, just in this case because the Phillies, Astros and Rangers all have the same record. If the Diamondbacks win the AL team gets home field because they were 84-78.
