In spite of the fact that the idiot Bud Selig tries to make a stupid exhibition game have an impact on the World Series, most of us still get it.

It's an exhibition game.

And we'd rather watch preseason football that knows that it is preseason football than watch an exhibition baseball game that tries to pretend like it's more than that.

HOF game draws 10.1 million viewers | ProFootballTalk

Fake football is better than no football. And the return of preseason football brought the viewers out in large numbers.
NBC has announced that the Hall of Fame game between the Cowboys and Dolphins averaged 10.1 million viewers. It’s the highest audience for any preseason game since the post-lockout contest between the Chargers and Cowboys in 2011, which drew an audience of 10.7 million.
The game was the No. 1 show for the week among adults age 18-49, 18-34, 25-54, and in all key adult-male demographics.
Speaking of demographics, we’re told that the 3.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic outpaced the MLB All-Star game by 19 percent, at 3.2.
So despite the periodic complaints about the quality of preseason football (one of the loudest voices in that regard belongs to the Commissioner), we still watch it. And not just because it’s on TV.

9.95 Million watched Lebron's "Decision".

Just goes to show that finding 10 million stupid fans is really easy.

Are we really judging quality by popularity? Do you want to see the music charts of the past 15 years?

Well, there's 12 million people in the state of ohio and 2.6 million in Miami-Dade county. Other than that, I doubt anyone cared.

Yea right. No one cares about Lebron James other than Ohio and Miami-Dade county.

He's only in the Top 10 of Forbes's Most Influential Athletes for 2013

No one cares about him.

About the decision? No, I don't think many people outside of those two markets gave a flying fuck about that 2 hour joke of a special.

I don't care about ratings. Baseball will always be better for me.

while to me seeing baseball would rank right up there with watching paint dry. what i guess it comes down to is simply a matter of preference...

Exactly. While watching either sport can be exciting, enjoying a baseball game tends to require greater perseverance than enjoying a football game.

I haven't been that into baseball lately. I guess its because I am just not into this Yankees team. They are boring. The lineup is terrible and just not fun to watch. I can watch my Jets stink it up on the field and go 4-12. But baseball is just a different sport and I'm just not into it this year. I was enjoying watching the Knicks play and now I am excited for the Jets.

I think they may shock some people. This team could be similar to 2009.

No Middle Oline and no RBs worth a damn. In 2009 you guys had great Guards and good, tough RBs. I just dont see how any of your QBs can do a thing with no Running Game, especially no Tough Running Game.

At least you will have the Brooklyn Nets to root for this fall :)

No middle OL? We have a great center. And our OGs aren't bad. Willie Colon is a good player, his problem is staying healthy. If he does the JEts got a steal. Stephen Peterman is average. Rookie Brian Winters could end up starting, hes been impressing. Alan Faneca was washed up when he was with the Jets.

Our RBs should be upgraded this season. If Chris Ivory stays healthy he could be a top 10 RB, hes got the talent. I hope that Mike Goodson shows up, hes a talented explosive runner that is a good pass catcher. Bilal Powell is a solid RB who has been having a good camp.

They upgraded the run game when they got rid of Shonn Greene, he was awful.

And our QB play will be better than it was in 2009.

As a Sox fan and Pats fan, I am really enjoying the latest cicumstances. I do miss the rivalray with the Jets but there is no amount of pain for the yankees that will make me unhappy. Let's enjoy NFL and leave the Yankees to.....
