it was him and a bunch of meh. Foulke was an amazing closer, but Giles isn't half bad. I'd take Harris and Devenski over anything of the other Sox relievers from that year.

Pens matter a hell of a lot in the playoffs as the 2016 Giants learned. That's right, this shit-ass 64 win team was in the playoffs...last year. Had the Cubs on the ropes to go to 2-2 and then, the pen just sucked ass.

Cleveland is going to win the Series that they damn near won last year. That's my only prediction.

Same thing kinda sorta as the 2014 and 2015 Royals

Bullpen seems to be a pretty big factor in the playoffs.

Defense/Fielding is something thats a little underlooked, too. Boston and D'Backs have a bunch of errors.

Rockies and Cubs probably not the best baserunners.

The little things really add up in the postseason. I still think the first things I look at are starting pitchers, how the teams have played the last 30 games, record against teams over .500 and overall point differential before bullpen but bullpen is usually the deciding factor when teams are really close.
