Pre-Game Discussion: Miami (OH) at. #22 Notre Dame

Missed it on Monday, but it's still early in the week and that means it is time for the pre game discussion thread for this week.

This should definitely be a easy win for us. Heck I wonder what the spread will be.

The spread is -21.5.

Cant sleep on a team like this. Not to sound like a bully but I want to beat them down. I want this game over in the 1st half and get back ups in the 2nd half.

Easy wins don't exists anymore. We are not allowed to say that anymore. We said "easy win" for the past 2 yrs and we lost those easy games. I want ND to take the approach that every team is better than them. This is going to be, IMO, a true test of this team and coaches. I don't want them to play down and be unprepared...I don't need to see a 50 pt win, but I better not see a team that plays like shit for 3 Q and then wakes up when they are tied in the 4th....

That's what we thought last year about Duke and Navy. Hopefully you're right and we can use this as a tune up for NC, and then we can use NC as a tuneup for SC.

Good teams are supposed to put away inferior opponents. Recent history has shown ND plays down significantly to such teams. So far as this year it looks like they have been taking care of business.

Two things I'm concerned about. One is the Chuck Martin factor. If anyone knows Kelly's mind, his tendencies, and how he'll act in a given scenario, it's Martin. That is a distinct advantage to Miami OH.

The other is whether Kelly will go easy so as not to embarrass Martin and it ends up being too close.

not that i expect them to win or anything, but miami isn't quite the festering suckfest that they've were, for the better part of a decade+, they're at least somewhat respectable now. that said, if notre dame doesn't win this by 14+, i'm gonna be all like . . .

I want to see this offense continue to grow and find itself. Open up the passing game a little bit and let Wimbush grow his confidence.

I hate betting these big spread games, cuz Irish always seem to play down to opponents, plus coach of Miami is ex-assistant to Kelly and he prolly won't wanna run up the score.
