Actually it was a truck for me. That's not a picture of it, but it was just like it, my uncles 1967 GMC 3/4 ton 6cyl 4spd with a granny gear farm truck. When I was 14 he would throw me the keys and tell me to go learn how to drive.
Drove it all around his farm and out on the country roads. Spent a lot of hours doing stupid shit in that truck.

'85 Plymouth Horizon. Loved that little thing. Stick, no tape deck with a compass on the dash. Silver hatchback with the sun visor-slat deals on the back window. My old man played county league ball for a bar. I got to be driver by about 12 or so. Good times. [ame]http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=scR_n4Y-ae8[/ame]. Not the same color, not a good video, but it's a Horizon.

I took Drivers Ed back in high school. Not sure they even offer such a thing now. But back then, car dealers would let the schools have "demo's" of new cars to use in drivers ed. I took it in the Summer so we all got extended drive time behind the wheel of these cars. Some of these demo's were better than others. The group I was in got this 1975 Grand Prix SJ with a 455cid engine with only 3000 miles on it. It would get up and go. Entering the highway, the instructor (a football coach) would yell, punch it, punch it...get up to highway speed. Well, that car had no problem doing that. Fun times.

My dad was a fan of the old AMC cars and had a few over the years. The car I mostly learned and was eventually given to me that the hotties all wanted a ride in was a 1972 AMC Matador light green in color. I also spent time driving a 1976 dodge van that my dad had for work.

A you tube vid of the car but did not have a white vinyl top or the fancy wheels. You can hear the power in the engine lol.

Renault R10. My dad had three of these throughout the 70's due to the gas shortage and I have no idea where in the hell he got them from since we live in WV. We had a yellow that he decided to let me drive on the farm. It was a 4 speed and pretty cool to drive.

Buick Special, it was big and ugly, but I didn't care, because it meant freedom. Between, school, a part time job, and chasing after girls and partying, my parents hardly ever saw me. It looked something like this.

Combo of 3 different cars. My driver's Ed car was a '73 Chevy Laguna 2dr htp and the instuctor just kept us out on the country roads instead of going into the city. I learned the most bombing around the gravel logging roads in my sister's (at the time and handed down to me)1963 Dodge Dart 4dr with slant 6 and 3-on-the-tree. Parents got it at a state surplus auction with 200,000 + miles on it. The third car was mom's '71 Datsun 510 4dr with 4spd. Anytime she needed to go anywhere, she'd ask me to drive her and toss me the keys. WOW, that car comes with a factory racing suspension and was fun to drive. They're hard to find because so many people would simply strap down the suspension to lower and stiffen it, slap a number on the door, and go weekend warrior racing in them.

1972 gold Chevrolet impala two door, with a black vinyl roof. (350 cu in).

On special occasions I got to drive a maroon 1974 Monte Carlo (black vinyl roof) with a 454 cu in engine.
