Very impressive for a middling program
I agree, we've been pretty irrelevant the last 2 decades. Need to take accomplishments wherever I can.

Ha, well there ya go now. Trent Brown is a Patriot now.
People will disagree, but most top 10 guys aren't developed (QB maybe the exception). They are just born as freak athletes. I am a Raider fan. They just drafted a freak at OT, that actually wasn't great at football (considering he went 15th and lacks technique). You can bet his coaches will claim they got him there
OL is the hardest thing to project. Nobody knows how some of these kids will grow over 4-5 years. Lot of skinny 3 stars end up in the NFL. Those big 4 stars end up being the same size. I would hate to make a living projecting HS offensive linemenWell OL is probably the exception for Notre Dame. Harry Hiestand is widely regarded as one of the best OL coaches in pro/college football, of course he isn't the OL coach anymore so we'll see what happens going forward. Nelson wasn't a top 50 player in his class, and McGlinchey wasn't a top 150 kid in his class.

I get that but ND has routinely had guys drafted in the first 3 rounds, including 4 guys in the top 20 and 3 in the top 10, just in the last 5 years. And it's not like ND has been getting 5 star OL recruits.
OL, especially interior, can be an exception. Tackles are a bit different. Hard to find a 6'6" dancing bear. Lot of kids you can coach until you are blue in the face and they aren't playing LT in the NFL
If you answer yes and didnt make playoffs, perhaps you need some new coaches
What about if you made the playoffs and didn't have anyone drafted in the first round?

Then your coach is:
A. Underpaid.
B. Bad at recruiting
C. Both?
