I got nuthin.' Do a google search? Never heard of that glitch. But my pip boy does disappear if I'm in stealth and wearing armour with a stealth bonus on it.

I fixed it. I just did a hard reset and I'm no longer invisible. It was annoying because I couldn't use the Pip Boy menus.

Bethesda announcing a bunch of new content on the way. 2 add ons and one potential expansion with Nuka-World, a theme park of some sort.

I was planning on getting the DLC in the next couple weeks. Maybe I should wait a bit and get some package deal...

Hmmm, wonder if they're going to give us suckers who shelled out the extra initially the extra for free?

Heh. I kill me.

I just did a speed run with the BOS. I have no interest in moving forward with them, since you have to wipe out both the institute AND railroad in Arden to go with them (F that).

I will proceed with my REAL game this weekend going with the Institute, at least until I get the companion. Then I will get all the DLC and go to town with that shit.

I am currently lvl 88, and I think I have just about finished the game. I still have a few mags and heads to find/collect, but I think I have all waypoints.

Nuka-World, bitches...

I'm holding off for the time being (maybe Christmas/Early next year). I'll start a new file and it'll be like a brand new game again.

In the meantime I've started Red Dead and I have Fallout 3 on deck.

Either we're all spoiled by Bethesda or they're lazy. I can't help but feel like they could have done Skyrim and FO4 better but they know people will play the shit out of it regardless of whether they fix their issues or not. The fact that the character animations and facial expressions are still this bad astounds me. It's like they don't care to improve as much as possible because they know it'll still sell a billion copies regardless. Their plot lines have only gotten worse as time goes on.

It was never that important to me to have perfect facial expressions. The overall graphics have improved over time.

I thought the plots were decent enough with Fallout New Vegas being the best. Bethesda doesn't want to be too detailed in the plot if only because they really do want the game to be as open-ended as they can make it.

The universe is so rich in history already. And the story for this one was very personal, with the overall world stuff being relegated side-quest-status.

There are holes in the graphics, of course. But it is intended to be somewhat comic-booky, so I think a lot of that is by design.

Hm, never heard anyone say that Bethesda's animations and facial expressions were meant to be "comic-booky". It's the same in Skyrim.

I don't know, the game just didn't hold my attention for very long. I didn't care about the story or any of the characters. There was no immersion really, it's just a sandbox. A sandbox can provide a ton of fun but I just got bored after a while. The whole game comes off as really generic to me. The settlements come off as busy work and I care very little for building.

New Vegas had an incredible soundtrack, a great setting, weapon customization, hardcore mode built in, MUCH better dialogue options. In FO4, you can't even tell what your character will say before he says it. Many of these issues can probably be fixed with mods but still, I was disappointed with FO4. I would say NV is the best of the series.

I beat FO:NV 3 times. I lasted about 15-20 hours in FO4 before I got bored.

To summarize, I felt like the roleplaying elements were watered down. That's what I felt made Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3 and NV so good. Even the story getting more personal forced you more into a box because no matter what your character was a Father and a Widower. Finding your son isn't even considered an urgency, which diminishes that storyline because they still wanted to give you a sandbox and let you do what you want.

I'm not saying it's a bad game. Like I said, sandboxes are fun, but I was disappointed.

Wasn't Morrowind just that though, x100? Fetch and escort missions not tied to anything. Huge, but... pointless.

Now if you want to compare it to Witcher 3, then yeah, but it seems like it follows what they've been doing, but made it a bit more dumbed down for the casual player.

To each his own I guess. I liked Fallout 4 the best of the lot actually. Being from Massachusetts made the setting a no-brainer for me. (I can see how that would not be as interesting for others though) but each of the characters had an involved and unique story of their own with an interesting quest. There was plenty of weapon mods and armor upgrades to work on. There were several worthwhile factions to sign on too with their different line of quests. Early on there are a number of mini-quests to gain experience (and maybe that's where you got bored) but that's just the beginning.

I liked Fallout New Vegas a lot too. The story line was very good. The setting was good and the weapons upgrades were fun. Loved the Howard Hughes character. But the main enemy (Caesar) and the end game were terrible imo. Just a lot of respawning characters with hyped up attributes that you had to keep killing until you solved the puzzle. bleh.

New Vegas was a far more replayable game IMO.

That's a great point, but Morrowind also lets you pick from a host of different races and the class system to me is a huge part of the replayability of those games. You can play as an evil thief during one playthrough then as a chivalrous knight on the next. One of the biggest reasons why I hated Skyrim was because they allowed you to master every class on a single playthrough. What's the point of finding good loot if I can just craft the best weapons and armor? What's the point of playing through it again if I've experienced every class already?

Morrowind also had one of the best atmospheres in a video game I have ever experienced. The quests weren't tied to anything but the world was immersive (despite the graphics of the time). I remember going into a random dungeon in Morrowind and seeing/fighting a vampire for the first time and looting a single piece of ebony armor, a pauldron, and I felt a sense of discovery and adventure that I never felt in FO4.
