I started reviewing the case for Dwight Gooden and now I'm on the fence. I know we all dismissed him earlier in the thread somewhere presumably because of his off the field problems with cocaine and other things, but the guy was an absolute beast and did have shoulder injuries that slowed him down.
There's a million different angles you could look at it from and obviously you can't blame everything on injuries when he had over a years worth of suspensions that were no one's fault but his.
On another note, can you imagine if in today's game some team let a guy pitch 750 major league innings before he was 21 years old? At least he got to win it all once, which Stephen Strasburg hasn't experienced yet.
