I don't know. He was never a dominant player, nor did he have the consistency that makes him HOF worthy. Never finished higher than 4th in MVP voting, only 5 All Star games, 3 Silver Sluggers, and no 500 HR in the height of the Steroid Era. IMO, he didn't do enough to separate himself from other 1B of his era, nor did he do enough to keep up with the greats either.

Hall of Very Good, IMO.

Exactly. Nearly 500 HR in the steroid era. I don't care who you were, you did not want to face Fred McGriff in his heyday. Had 30 HR season 8 years in a row a had a career OPS of .886 with a career high OPS of 1.012 in 1994. HOF. The end.
