Hellickson was scary bad today. Along with Nola things are not looking up. Plus our newest outfielders can't hit out of a paper bag.

It is only ST, but yeah, whatever. The pitching was never going to be the late '90s Braves anyway

Kevin Millwood was a fifth starter for the Braves in 1998-1999 and so on. He later pitched with the Phillies but was a bust. (Sort of.) Big mouth John Rocker was a reliever for the Braves at that time. Rocker pissed a lot of people
off with his racist comments. After retiring from baseball he was quoted as saying "Hell yes I used Steroids",Who
didn't!

Guess I should reassess. How about 80-82. Yeah, that's we're looking like. No pitching, no hitting, no fans.
-Matt Stairs is a fail at hitting coach. The bats are anemic. Our best hitters may be in the minors.
I predict a 70 win season at best.

You're declaring Matt Stairs to be a failure as a hitting coach after 15 Spring Training games? Man, no wonder everyone thinks Philly fans are fickle.

So we have no pitching and no hitting, but will still win approximately half of our games?

We're all being a little silly here. Those slackers in ST don't help any. If the Yankees can go 17-6 why can't the Phils. But it means nothing. Still, I think we might suck this year. Let's just say after 21 games with only 9 wins, they got work to do which will happen when a more valid or real lineup surfaces shortly. Nava and Stassi are going apeshit so where's the rest of the team. Those two may not even start the season for the Phillies. But we will be better than last year because they plugged the two holes in the OF ... I think. When the experienced Saunders and Kendrick get it going, the Phils will come alive. For now, I'm a depressed positive thinker. Yeah, fire Stairs. 21 games. He had his chance. :pound:

I am completely down on Kendrick. Saunders may hit around .260 with a some pop. OUR 3RD BASEMAN NEEDS TO HAVE A BIG YEAR. Joseph and Franco need to be key producers. I will try to be positive for the 1st 25 games into the regular season. I am perturbed now because our hitters are struggling against spring training pitchers.

For your own sanity, don't get the hopes up on Franco. I've been calling out his bum ass since May of last year, and will continue to do so until the day a huge plate of crow is served to me at China King in lieu of my delicious General Tso's Chicken.

.500 is the ceiling right now, and that would be a 10-game turnaround. What would be a cause for concern is if this team lost more than 90 games. Give me something in the 75-80 win range, and I'm happy with this season.

Screw that, I'm moving to Boston.

Holy shit, I predicted a big 35 homer year for Franco. He'll be OK once he gets his shades on straight.
