Might as well get this thread started as a number of stories are already flowing.

MArco Andretti came-out in the first practice day and set a blistering lap speed of 227 mph and change. That stood for a couple fo days until Graham Rahal dominated practice with 225 mph and change. Andretti has a fast car and maybe, just maybe, he will finally bury the Andretti Indy jinx with an outright win.

Of course Danica is trying to do something but nobody seems to know what it is and she is presently 30th on the docket. Retiring for her is a very good thing. Time to start poppin' out babies I suppse.

Wow, Castroneves puts together a string of runs that bumps him up to the provisional at 228 mph and change.

Hinchcliffe gets bumped from the field and now is whining up a storm that drivers who don't compete in the full-schedule IndyCar series should not be allowed to usurp regular competitiors. WTH? Get a faster car and bump somebody else ya' flippin' wussie-boy.

Now, Hinch has accepted the blame, along with his team, for not making the field.

We shall see who emerges for the win. Could be another first-timer like Rossi a year or two ago.

Kanann, Dixon and Andretti, top three for Carb Day today, but I would like to see Danica do well on Sunday. I should probably be an Andretti fan, having lived only a short distance from their home town in Nazareth,Pa. from 1961 until 2012. I attended the stock car races at the Nazareth Speedway (now shut down) and a few at the Pocono Speedway, only 45 minutes from where I lived. But I just never became a fan of the Andretti race team.

Andretti has looked pretty stout all two weeks. Maybe this is the year he finally buries the Andritti jinx at Indy. Kanaan looked really stout in final practice and Dixon was good too. So many good drivers and teams this year.

Since this is essentially a crapshoot, I will just list my 4 favorite drivers still remaining and hope they get there.

I'll go with Marco to finally break through and win the race that has eluded him and his family since his grandfather won the race back in the 60's. I'll go with Dixon, Kanaan, and Newgarden for fourth.

High temps in Indianapolis are going to create havoc with downforce and grip with these new cars. We could see a first timer today in Victory Circle.
