Pick the Podium: F-1 - Russian Grand Prix, Sochi, 2016

The F-1 Boys are in Russia this weekend and we shall see if Vettel finally gets in the win column challenging Rosberg who is obviously on a role. Hamilton may come guns ablazin' as well. We shall see.

In the opening practice, Hamilton takes P1 with Vettel getting in between Hamilton and Rosberg.

After two practices, the order remains Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg with Vettel having transmission woes.

But Rosberg never ran the super softs in P2. Lewis was a wee bit faster on the softs and ended up 7/10 faster over all.

Lewis had great pace, but his power unit gave out again. Not sure exactly where he is starting put perhaps caboose on the field.

Seb changed his gearbox and is starting 7th with a 5 spot penalty. Puts Bottas on the front row. In the spot that Kimi needs to come through. What could possibly go wrong?

I love Kimi. He apparently saw the shot of them pulling the cowl off of Lewis' car on one of the video screens around the track.

Imagine how fast he'd be if he watched the track in front of him

Vettel starts 7th due to a penalty and Hamilton's mechanical woes continue. I'll go with Rosberg, Raikkonen, and Vettel.

Hamilton has worked his way up to the second spot. Rosberg's lead is extensive. Grosjean is now eighth. Haas has got to be smiling! Rosberg could nail down number seven-in-a-row.

Raikkonen is the lone Ferrari in the top three. Vettel has faded.

Damn, I thought Lewis was starting from the back/pit lane. If I'd have known he was starting in 10th, I would have put him on the podium. Oh well.

Seems they went back to the Power Unit they used in Australia, or at least used enough older parts to make it not qualify as a "change".

Quite an exciting first few laps. Not sure what Red Bull was thinking putting both drivers on the slippery tires. I think Daniel at least could have been fighting with the Williams boys. Strong showing by McLaren again, and the Renault looked solid too.

Decent race. Hamilton just could not close that huge gap/lead Rosberg had from nearly the get-go.
